She kissed his cheek before sighing and taking her laptop off the coffee table, going to set it up on the table. * * * "Exactly. So stop, okay?"
She glanced up from tying her hair back, her hands cold and fumbling at the hair tie. "You're awake." ** * He rubbed her back slowly as he began to apply medicine to the cuts, wincing in sympathy.
She frowned, looking down at him thoughtfully. "Just trying to get some work done." * * * He frowned, working as quickly as he could
She laughed slightly, her face illuminated as the computer started up. "I would if I could." * * * He wanted to change the subject, so he blurted out. "You, uh... asked if we would get married one day, you know."
He pursed his lips stubbornly. "Then I'm staying up with you." *** She flushed immediately. "Oh. Sorry."
She sighed hotly, leaning back in her chair. *** He frowned, looking embarrassed. “Oh, *squee!*. You wanted me to say no, didn’t you?”
His eyes peered over the back of the couch at her playfully. *** She couldn't help but chuckle slightly. "No, I didn't want you to say no."
She glared at him, crossing her arms. “Don’t look at me like that.” *** He pursed his lips, looking unconvinced. “Okay. Sure.”
He raised an eyebrow. *** She looked at him. "Arlo, the only other answer I would have preferred is yes."
“Don’t. I’ll have to come tackle you otherwise.” *** A strange expression crossed his face. “Really?”
She sighed, standing up and walking over, slipping over the back of the couch rest on his lap. *** He gave her a slow smile before leaning forward to kiss her.
