Back at it Again (One-on-One)

She frowned and fast forwarded the tapes.

"Let's check."

 

The tape fast forwarded until they saw the man exit. He left quickly, his hands in his pockets, and minutes later, the boiler room started smoking.

 

"Where is he going?" Val growled, flipping through the security tapes with a frown.

 

"I think so," she said. "I'm seeing if there's a tape from the parking lot."

 

"It is," she agreed. "We need to talk to Poppy."

 

"When she wakes up, then."

 

She paused and looked down.

"If, I guess. If she wakes up."

 

She looked up at him, her head cocked.

"Optimist."

 

She cocked her head.

"I thought we already proved that I'm a optimist?"
