"I could. But does that sound like something I'd do?"

 

"You're wrong," she said. "Mo, sic him!"

The cat barely stirred at the sound of his name, sound asleep.

 

"If he were awake he'd tear your face off," she said flatly.

 

"I'm not rude. Just honest."

 

"Mo is."

 

She squinted at him.

"Who do you think knows him better?"

 

She nudged him playfully.

"Absolutely not."

 

She squinted at him.

"You're dead to me."

 

She raised an eyebrow.

"Dead?"

 

"Eh. You're alright."
