The dialogue/writing in the anime is infuriating in either dubs or subs, in my opinion. Manga can succeed off of a few things anime never can. For example, Bleach as a manga did a lot of work with black-on-white contrast and angled panels, which made up in some small degree for the subpar writing. The different languages added to the dialogue (German and Spanish) also give certain parts a neat look because it changes the feeling one gets reading it. The anime lacks those first two strengths completely and has the third only to a small degree. The only hand the Bleach anime has over the manga is its score. Lots of popular anime suffer similar tragedies when transitioning from being manga.
