You guys do realize that the question asked is moot, since all side characters have no personality or traits, and what traits are there are created by you, and as such are impossible not to like.
You don't have to know their personalities to like one of them, just the way they look sometimes, like the blindbags, I have no idea what they are meant to be like, but they have a nice design. My favourite looking background pony would have to be Octavia and second in line Colgate purely because I like the look of their designs. Princess Cadance is ofc the best side character in the show.
Most people seem to give Lyra the boyish type of personality in the pictures I've seen with her and Bon Bon, but in the season 2 finale she came off as greedy and very girly. I hope to see her get more parts in season 3.

Go with Derpy Derpy's better I like Lyra too but Derpy Hooves has always been my favorite background character.
