The top bar is quick and efficient, and is nice to have aesthetically. Just a question as to why the bar doesn't go all the way to the end of the page, or otherwise stop just after the "Fictions" Icon. The top bar is not there on the radio page. Intentional? Is the "My profile" and "settings" section going to stay below the top bar, or is it going up, on top of the new bar? No problems across browsers, including Mobile.
It should go all the way across the page. Could you give me your browsers and screen size/resolution? Something is up there. I have no plans to move the login/welcome/inbox menu, but will be adding tumblr, twitter and other sections/groups relating to the site. Thanks for the feedback everyone! All latest versions: Chrome Firefox Aurora Internet Explorer Opera Safari on Ipod works fine with the bar going all the way. I use a 1920x1080 24"
The fb icon was actually a little large so I offset it, Opera probably didn't acknowledge this. I've resized the icon and removed the offset. It should work A-OK now! Any ideas for additional links? I was thinking tumblr.. twitter maybe, youtube? Stuff like that on the right? Any more section links on the left?
Tumblr sounds like a good addition. I don't know if YT is as good an option... and twitter... I don't even know.
There's a lot of room but cramming more stuff into it will make ruin it's sleek/non-obtrusive design.. trust me. I think I'll add youtube and twitter, but the rest I'll leave - might get some more section links up in coming weeks .. ^^ By all means if you have additional ideas though, throw them into the pile for consideration! EDIT; And Walah! Added those 4. I think, it looks pretty nifty atm. You guys? Note: I haven't made alternate state buttons for youtube/fb/twitter/YT - Do you think I should? (so they fade or something when you hover). I didn't see it as so important.
Its not important, might be cute Eyecandy or something, but no, not important. I think it looks pretty good, network(s) to one side, general stuff to the other.
Make sure you're using the right theme - and what phone are you using? You'll be lucky to load the site on anything but a smart phone, let alone see the bar.
No theme stays. I've tried them all, then it automatically reverts to Network Forums. I'm using the Motorola Droid Razr. It happens across all browsers i've tried.
Tested my main three browsers (Chrome, Firefox and IE) with no issue. Investigating free clients to download for my smartphone to browse the forums, will check Opera on my Wii at another point, and investigate free browsers and test those out later as well.
Bumping. If there are no further suggestions/issues..? I think I'm going to roll this out tonight. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
I haven't had any issues on any computers I've tried. If you are going to incorporate the bar into the existing Network Forums theme, that will fix the issue on my Android phone, because that way it will be 'forced' to use it.
Mm, it seems fine on my Mac, both Safari and Chrome. I think it could do with a little cleaning up around the edges and such. For example, the Youtube icon has white lines around it, and the ponies on the left just don't seem quite right. I think placing them in the middle (vertically) of the bar would improve its look. Same goes with the Tumblr and Youtube icons. Move them a few pixels up. Also, rename 'Fictions' to 'Fiction'. And finally, call me picky, I still can't get used to the apostrophe-s on the end of Everypony. It just doesn't fit with how most of the rest of the internet lays out their titles. Besides my pickiness, this could prove to be very useful when rolled out throughout the entire network.
