Shadow was laid atop a grassy hill in a Phillip suit with his sniper watching for glorians. He spotted 2 nearing the encampment. "I don't wanna kill unless necessary," He said to himself. "Maybe just a warning shot>" at that he put a silencer on his Rifle took aim and fired a shot about 2 inches agead of the Glorians. Noticing this the glorians turned and went the other way
"Ok Steel, what we're going to have to do is switch any new soldiers ammo for, armor piercing rounds, it'll rip through the mech faster. Get your scouts to go out and scavenge parts from the mechs and tanks, and return them to the technicians while the infantry give them cover fire. The techninicians might be able to make another generate with enough parts. By the way, the Marines that landed nearby will be here soon. Expect about 300 of them." Crag said, calmly before getting behind the barrier wall and shooting anything that go too close.
Smoke suddenly filled the battlefeild after the roar of passing over Glorian fighter-bombers, followed by massive explosions both around on in the base as missiles slammed into the surrounding area. After every missle, a faint rosey smell could be smelt. When the smoke cleared, the battlefeild had cleared of it's original Glorian army, replace instead with a half-legion(2,500) of the most feared Glorian troops, the Legotium Elatians, soldiers trained from birth, wearing nearly impegniable armor to any infantry weapon, and armed with a deadly range of weaponry from Gatling Lasers to Miniguns to rapid-fire grenade launchers to multi-fire rocket launchers. The Equestrians barely had time to react before the fire from the Elatians reached them and they began their advance across the battlefeild.
"FIRE THE TESLA CANNONS, DEFEND THE NORTH WALL, DEFEND UNTIL RENFORCEMENTS ARRIVE AND FINALLY STOCK UP ON ARMOUR PIERCING ROUNDS". steel barked out orders before throwing a grenade over the wall.
Flitter watched over the farmer as they cantered across the fields. "I apologize for my sudden disturbance. It's literally instinct. Brisk insists I be kinder to you."
(Well, no responses in more than a day, so let's skip forward. This is about a year later, and the current goings on shall be about how the war was devolved into a massive trench war. Remember, if you're ever lost on how the war progresses, refer to the map in the OP in the OOC)
A year later, Crag was stationed a military base in the Equestrian capital of Ciioni, coordinating small bombing runs against important Glorian control points. "Bombing Squad 564-G, do you have a visual on your target?" The target this time was a small weapons shipment being sent to the Glorian line of control by a small fleet of military naval transport ships. "Yes sir, we haven't been picked up on their radar yet, we'll be within range of them within 5 minutes." Responded the stealth bomber pilot. Soon, the cloaking on the bombers disengaged as they opened the bomb bay, dropping powerful EMP bombs, shorting out the targeting systems of the transports. They soon turned around and fired the incendiary missiles at the fuel tanks, igniting the fuel and blowing up the transports. "YEAH!" Yelled the squadron into their radios. "Good work, head back before Glory finds out anything happened."
Janius quietly cursed to himself as he got yet ANOTHER message from the higher ups down in Terra in the middle of a war council saying that they were siphoning off MORE troops to fight the rebels in the home system. He slammed his fist down and grumbled to his generals, "Do they not understand just how big this war is getting?!". The generals stared at him, "I just learned that they were removing both Battlions Prometa AND Organal! That leaves us with only 1 Army Group and 2 Battle Groups! I swear, Gloria Renovatus is going to cause us to lose this war if they keep this up, we can barely guard our side, and they've taken so many ships, Equestrian supply shipments are starting to slip through! If we had the full resources of Glory at our back, we could win this war in five years! But it seems that they don't understand that this planet will determine our entire future as a space-faring nation!" Janius began pacing back and forth in front of the generals. "Viceroy..." General Tulcus pipped up, "I suggest, as we are fighting with barely 20% of Glory's resources, and only 10% manpower, I say that we begin setting up well fortified positions behind the current frontline so we can hold the Equestrians back until the dissent back home is settled. Also, we could also begin a similar process to what Glorea Nova did, build up our own military to support the Glorian regulars, also, if we disregarded our usual strategy in preference for a more mixed one, that could help as well." Janius mulled this over, "Hm, are the Ille steel war suits completed?" "yes sir" "Good, because it's time we payed the front a visit."
Due to steels success a year ago he was offered a promotion and he was now tasked to work alongside Crag as he was deemed to important for the battlefield. Of course steel would of preferred working down on the surface but a promotions a promotion and who wouldn't turn down more bits.
The red LED numbers lit up on Arans face, his smile brightly showing. "Just.... 5764398. Right. Now..." He turned around and headed into the forest, only to turn around for a second to check the red dots on the bridge. He smiled and nodded, heading deep into the dark trees and bushes, contempt now that the bombs were slowly ticking down. 10 minutes, and the bridge would be beyond repair. Alot of things can happen in a year. Aran, who sneaked into a Equestrian military base, found himself soon chased by a handful lot of energetic soldiers, attempting to cut down the Glorian in his tracks. Aran, who wasn't perfectly aqcuainted with military drills, managed to escape the group by taking a turn to run by a fighting squad, who gunned down his followers where they tried to shoot him instead. After, he took a brisk walk through the Equestrian forests, stumbling upon a road. He followed it and, after some hours of walking, he came to a... rather peaceful town. But, it came more like "Meh"-peaceful once he came in. Luckily, he found himself in the aid of a group of lost soldiers, who he became friends with after a few ups and downs with the marines. Now, after getting a little radio-talk with a Gloryian base commander, he took to himself a small package of C7 explosives and was tasked to destroy a bridge that had a number of AA cannons to fire down at the enemy. After a few "Mishaps" AKA getting himself nearly arrested and shot, he made his way to the point of location and... well, take a look at the top of the post and you'll see.
Terra Julii Juliianos studied several strategic maps(holographic, of course), each detailing several hot beds of conflict in the two wars he was currently waging. He looked over troop concentrations, base locations, troop movements, etc, all leading to a very comprehensive look over not only the Fifth Civil War, but also the Ciilonii war. He knew he was making a big gamble by withdrawing as many troops as he had from Ciilonii, but he knew that if the Grand International Government found he wasn't commited to squashing the rebellions in the Glorian colonies, that would mean investigation to just where those troops where, he would have to wait for at least most of the conflict at home to be settled before he could set his sights on Ciilonii. In the meantime, he was making preparations for a Great Offensive, one so large that even if Ciilonii fell before the Fifth Civil War was wrapped up, it still could be retaken. Luckily, the Civil War also provided the perfect guise for the preparations, meaning he could have maximum production without causing concern among his fellow world leaders. He swiped away another map, and studied a massive blueprint, which actually was a live construction feed from an undisclosed and hidden location in the system. A pair of massive ships were shown, covered in incomplete weapons, and two countdowns underneath them, showing the estimated time til completion, the smaller of the two was merely days away from completion, and was already being prepared for going to its first target. As he studied smuggly the two giant ships, another map suddenly popped up, showing how a battle fleet just wiped out the last rebel controlled fleet. He smiled and his fingers danced across a pop-up holographic keyboard, giving orders for the battle fleet, called the First Fleet, to head to 'Sector 42', the codename for Ciilonii, and a small little nudge and laugh at the 'Area 42' of the Kriptos Sligatos, Glory's sworn enemy in the G.I.G.
