"Yes, I believe I've heard you mention that before. I must admit, I haven't been to Chineigh; Well, not this millennium anyway; how long did you stay there?"
"Some three hubdred years, I believe," he said, "the chineighse are more open minded about beings such as you and I, and it was a time of great tranquility for me. I hid my true self for posterity reasons, but oni and changelings openly integrated with soceity."
Discord smiled at the news. "I am glad you found some peace in your travels then. But tell me; why did you leave?"
"The answers I sought were not there, and the desire to explore the world was too great to allow me to remain in one place for too long."
Discord nodded. "I see. Though I must say you have a strange definition of 'too long'; even for the likes of us, three hundred years is not an insignificant period of time. Did you meet anyone noteworthy during this brief stay?"
"Not truly," he said, "I did brush shoulders with the empress a few times. She was much like the princess Celestia, in some ways..a very kindhearted alicorn." He sighed, at the thought of her. She had been a little sweetvon him, but his own fears had led him never to pursue it.
"Like Celestia and kind-hearted? I'm not sure I can quite picture that..." Discord said, with a touch of bitterness, before checking himself; he knew Frozen had a soft spot for Celestia, and he didn't want to upset him. "So where did your travels take you next?" He asked, trying to sound a little brighter.
"Ah, now Saddle Arabia I do remember; very hot, very sandy. Not my favourite locale. I'm assuming you didn't spend three hundred years there?"
Discord chuckled. For some reason he hadn't even made that connection. "I suppose you fancied heading somewhere a little cooler after that?"
"Well, I did spend some time in Vanhoover," he said, "as well as some time spent hiding in Canterlot, right beneath the princess' noses."
"You were in Canterlot? And you didn't even come to visit your old Dad? Why Frozen, I'm hurt." Discord jested, with mock sincerity.
Frozen chuckled, "I didn't want to get that close to the castle for fear of being caught, though I did steal a few chances to admire the princess from afar. I was fond of her until I met Xarame," he said, "there is something about her that takes my breath away.."
Discord smiled, glad that Frozen had found someone to focus his affection on who hadn't been making his life miserable for the last millennium. "She seems a very nice mare, and I'm sure she feels the same way about you; but you may just have to take things slowly with her."
Frozen smiled, "I'm glad to see you approve of this one, at least," he said with a soft chuckle. He was aware of his father's history with celestia, part of what shied him away from contact with her. If she knew he was of discord's blood, she would distrust him, and he wouldn't abide mistreatment of the father he had now found.
"I just want you to be happy Frozen, and she seems to make you happy." "In this place, that is certainly not something to be cast away;" Xarame said, sleepily, appearing in one of the bedroom doorways. "Might I ask which one it is making the other feel this way?"
"Not as much as you seem to fear," She replied, noting the strange colour change. She supposed he must be blushing. "But you need not worry, privacy is something I hold dear; having been denied it so long here." She trusted Frozen to tell her anything he wanted her to know, and didn't wish to pry into things he didn't.
Frozen stood up, brushing himself off. He approached her slowly and slipped out into the hall, so they could talk in private. He stood there for a few moments, trying to find the right words.
