Xarame could tell that Frozen was struggling with something; she laid a hoof gently on his shoulder. "If there is something you wish to get off your chest, speaking simply would be best." she said, still a little sleepily, before stifling a yawn.
"I like you a bit," Frozen said, "I know that seems strange, considering we only just met, but I find you very interesting."
Xarame blushed; it had been a long time since anyone had said she was interesting. She cared for Met deeply, in a sisterly kind of way, but their relationship started as one of necessity, they had relied on each other's support to survive Arzeroth's treatment. Frozen was probably the first one in a thousand years to actually want to be with her out of choice. "I... thank you Frozen, and I must say; I believe I feel the same way."
Frozen smiled softly, "I was just kind of scared to say anything, for fear of how you would react. I know you need time, after all that has occured, so I wanted to take things slowly for your benefit."
"Thank you, you are very kind; and while I admit the shadows still play on my mind, with a little help from you, I'm sure I can conquer them too."
Frozen smiled and nodded, both happy to have that out in the open and to know she felt the same. "So, care to meet my father?"
"Discord's son? How can that be?" Xarame gaped, "There is certainly no resemblance that I can see. What of the rest of your family?"
Frozen smiled a bit, "I was adopted by the royal family,"he said, "discord is my father and my mother is the stewardess of the castle in snowdrift." He took her by the hoof and lead her into the room.
"Ah, there you are! So, what have you crazy kids been talking about?" Discord inquired, still sitting next to the fire.
"Oh?" Discord smiled and looked at Xarame. "Well you're still here, so I assume you weren't too horrified by this revelation?" Xarame smiled shyly as she sat next to Frozen "It is always nice to hear one cares for you, especially when that one you care about too." "Ah! Well, good news then!" Discord said, grinning and leaning forwards in his chair. "And if you don't protest, I have a gift to mark the occasion." He clicked his claws, and a small box tied with a ribbon appeared in front of Xarame, startling her a little. (I think I've got a way to deal with Xarame's rhyming, if you don't mind; it was ok when she was a minor character, but it kind of makes it difficult for her to say anything that meaningful or complex, which might start to be a bit of a hindrance )
(What did you have in mind?) Frozen perked up in curiosity, anxious to see what was in the box. He was, however, very happy his father approved of the mare he liked!
Xarame looked at the box somewhat suspiciously; it seemed to be moving... "Don't worry, it won't bite!" Discord reassured her. Fighting her instinct to mistrust Discord, Xarame pulled the end of the ribbon with her mouth, then nudged the lid off with her nose. As soon as the lid was removed, a yellow streak shot out, making her squeak and fall back. After a second though, it became clear that the yellow streak was in fact a small yellow bird; it flew around the box a few times before settling on Xarame's shoulder. "It's lovely," She said, looking at the bird and then at Discord, "But is it for?" She furrowed her brow a little; something seemed off... she covered her mouth with a hoof and her eyes grew wide as she realised what she'd just said didn't rhyme. Discord chuckled at her reaction. "It is a Babel Bird," He explained, "It senses what you are going to say, and then puts it into the format that will be best understood by those around you." The little Babel Bird puffed it's chest out proudly. "It will only work so long as it is perched on your shoulder; if you take it off, you'll speak like your normal rhymey self." Xarame nodded, a little unsure. "I think I understand." She looked at Frozen. "What do you think, Frozen?"
"I am happy either way, my dear," he said, "but this way must surely be more comfortable for you than trying to translate!"
Xarame thought for a moment, then nodded. "That much is true, but does the lack of rhythm and rhyme not sound odd to you?"
"Good morning," Met said, walking into the room. She smiled. "It has been a long time since I have had cause to say that." She walked over and joined the others around the fireplace. "So, what are we discussing?" Discord gave her a warm smile. "Good morning to you, Met"
