They spent the next few hours preparing for the coming conflict; Frozen deciding what spells to use; Discord practising his defensive and appearance altering spells. After a while, Healing Hoof groaned groggily and started waking up.
(This actually gave me an idea for the climax of the glass house rp!) Frozen turned to him, and trotted over, "On your feet my good man," he said, helping him up, "Do you remember your promise?" Healing hoof nodded. Frozen turned to discord, "Ready?"
(Climax? It's meant to be a long running RP! Or, at least it was, until it stopped running ) Discord nodded. "I was born ready! Well, I wasn't really born at all, but... Yes. I'm ready." He looked at Healing Hoof. "How long is this going to take?"
(lol yeah, well climax of frozen's story anyway. It deals with how they defeat the demon basically!) Healing looked from discord to Frozen, "Not long m'lords, not long.." he said, as he stood, "Follow healing hoof."
(Oh, right; yeah I gotcha. It's been too long, all the details are falling out of my mind sieve!) "You talk about yourself in the third person? Who does that?" Discord asked, raising an eyebrow. Leaning in close, he added; "You'd better not lead us astray, or it'll be the last time you lead anything anywhere."
(no worries lol) Healing meeped in fear. Frozen placed a reassuring hoof on his shoulder, "Easy now, just take us where we sant to go, alright?" he said, and Healing nodded. Frozen smirked and Discord and winked. Maybe their plan would work?
As Healing lead them through the rocky wasteland, Discord couldn't help but feel they were being watched. "We're not alone," He murmured to Frozen. "We must be getting close; try to walk with purpose." As they rounded a jagged outcrop, he was proven right; in front of them lay the Northern Citadel, an imposing hulk of rusting iron and blackened rock.
"What was your idea about a disguise again?" Frozen asked, wanting to be on the same page. He would very much like to avoid walking into a death trap...unprepared at least!
Discord stopped and thought for a moment, pulling them all behind the outcrop and out of sight of the Citadel. He then conjured a tent around them to shield them from any other prying eyes. He looked at Frozen and then at Healing. "I suppose this one needs to know our plan," He said, gesturing to Healing. "Or some of it at least. One wrong word from him could make things that much more difficult for us. And I'm sure he wouldn't want to do that, Right?" He swung his head towards healing and glared at him from under his eyebrows.
Healing nodded, shaking a bit when discord turned towards him. "Alright," Frozen said, "show me your plan.
"Well, let's see." With a flash, Discord transformed into a monstrous crow; black as pitch and seemingly decomposing before their very eyes, his open beak let forth a blaze of heat and an ominous glow, as a furnace burned within him. He stood hunched before them, shorter that his usual self, but still a good hoof taller than Healing, and cocked his head. "What do you think?" he croaked, his beak lagging behind his words in a jarring manner.
Healing looked horrified, and would have attempted to run were Frozen not blocking the exit. Frozen smiled and nodded in satisfaction, "Very good. I had a feeling you knew darker magiks," he said.
Discord shrugged, which was an odd looking thing for a crow to do, even in this situation. "Ok, your turn," He said, turning his magic on Frozen, who became a terrifying visage of Arctic death; standing taller now than even Discord, a perpetual flurry seemed to surround him, obscuring his features; where the flurry thinned and when the light caught just right, his body and face were skeletal in nature, yet without a hint of fragility, encased as they were in a set of thick armour made of some unnatural ice. His breath frosted the air and his eyes blazed with a cold blue light. "Satisfied?" He asked, conjuring a full length mirror and turning it towards Frozen.
Frozen admired Discord's handiwork with great scrutiny, before he nodded in satisfaction, that he was satisfied. "You have outdone yourself Discord!"
"Thank you Frozen. You may want to walk around a little; get used to the increased size of your new form." Discord suggested, send the mirror back from whence it came. He looked over at the terrified Healing Hoof. "Warpaint, you see?" He explained, in the softest tone his new form would allow, which unfortunately came across as doubly sinister.
"Warpaint?" Healing asked in meek confusion, as Frozen tried wobbling around until he got his balance.
"Arzeroth's reign is at an end." Discord announced, dramatically. "We are the tide that shall wash him away, but we require your help. Your help and the help of those like you. Help us, and life will get better for you; but cross us, and I promise you, you'll be begging to return to Arzeroth before the end." He looked to Frozen to explain the specifics of the plan to Healing Hoof, and to emphasize the better quality of life that was within grasp.
Despite his terrifying visage, Frozen lived up to his namesake "heart," as he explained the way things could be and how he understood how cruel fate could be. Frozen's regality showed, as he had the makings of a great king, were fate different.
"Very eloquent, Mr. Heart," Discord croaked, quietly impressed, and feeling an odd tinge of pride. "But the hour is nigh; we must set the wheels in motion." He looked once more at Healing Hoof. "You will get us inside the gate. We will do the rest."
Healing nodded, having been convinced these two were his liberators. "Let's go," said Frozen, "Let's end this demon's reign of terror."
