Blaise pinched the bridge of her nose, looking frustrated. "I'm okay. I just want to figure this mess out."
Lucy frowned, looking around at everyone. "Ellis wouldn't have killed anyone... right? He wouldn't have done that."
"I don't think did it either," she told her, brushing her hair back. "We'll find out." *** A bit later there was a knock on Emerson's door.
Lucy patted Blaise's shoulder gently. "Don't worry," she said. "Emerson isn't a bad guy. If he can't prove that Ellis did it, he's not going to exile him." * * * There was a silence before he would call out. "Come in."
She sighed, seeming uncertain. Jaz sat back down in his seat. "Would it be wrong of me to go see Ellis for a bit?" she asked. *** Rory entered. She seemed uncertain and a bit tired. Her hair was down rather than in a ponytail. She didn't say anything.
She shook her head, her brows furrowed. "No. I don't think that's a problem. I just..." She hesitated, looking a little nervous. "If he does tell you anything that indicates that he did it... you just... be careful, okay?" * * * He looked up at her from his desk. His eyes may have been slightly red-rimmed, but it was hard to tell. "Are you here to get angry at me?" he asked tiredly.
Her frown deepened and she paused before answering. "Alright.." *** She approached him, standing behind him and leaning down and kissed his temple gently.
She nodded slightly, watching her carefully. "Do you need us to go with you?" * * * He took a deep breath sharply before looking up at her almost worshipfully. "You're not mad?"
"I'll be alright," she said. "I can handle myself." *** She looked thoughtfully at him, shaking her head and kissing his cheek "I'm not mad, Emerson. I'm not mad."
Lucy nodded slowly. "Alright. Be careful." Aisling left, heading out to go find Dion. * * * He relaxed, standing up slowly. "Are you sure? You seemed mad earlier."
"I will," she said, heading out with a frown. Jaz looked up at Lucy, his gaze adoring as he waited for the conversation to end. *** Dion was camping on a roof, much like the other times. *** She hugged him. "I was upset," she admitted. "I didn't like what was happening."
Lucy sighed, looking over at him. "What a mess, huh?" she asked quietly after Blaise left. * * * She approached him, her frown already present as she looked over her shoulder. * * * "What was I supposed to do, Rory?"
He nodded with a frown. "It is. I hope it gets solved quickly." *** He looked up at her, his expression brightening before looking curious. "What's wrong?" *** "I don't know, Aidan," she said slowly, rubbing his back.
She nodded slowly, frowning slightly. "You, uh... you were ready to fight Emerson if something happened, huh?" * * * "Emerson's gone off the deep end," she said flatly, sitting down next to the fire. "He's tried to exile Ellis." * * * "I think... I'd feel wrong if I didn't do this. Even though I feel wrong now, I'd feel badly either way."
He seemed hesitant, looking over at her thoughtfully. "Yes, I suppose so." *** He raised an eyebrow. "I see.. How did that go?" *** She pulled away, taking both of his hands and leading him to the bed before sitting, looking up at him adoringly. "We'll have to find the truth."
She paused before standing up on her tip toes, kissing his cheek lightly. "I think you're wonderful," she said quietly. * * * "About as poorly as you'd think it would go," she said with a sigh. "What are you up to?" * * * He looked down at her, frowning. "I suppose. Are you tired?"
He put an arm around her, relaxing slightly. "I think you are too." *** "Not dealing with that, I'm afraid. Would you like to stay with me?" *** She tilted her head. "Not particularly.. Are you?"
She gave him a slow smile, cupping his jaw for a moment before pulling back. "I'm going to do some work," she said quietly. "Do you want to come with?" * * * "I really would," she said, sounding like she truly meant it. "You're such a relief to be around." * * * He laughed slightly. "Yeah, but that's okay. Everything's alright."
He nodded, standing up and offering his hand. *** He gave her a small smile. "I'm glad you think so." *** She scooted onto the bed before patting the spot beside her.
She took it, squeezing his hand before heading back to her workshop. * * * She huffed, giving him a small smile. "Don't get a big head about it." * * * He sat next to her, exhaling tiredly.
