He followed her his hand in hers. *** "Too late. It's huge. That reminds me," he added, reaching into his bag and pulling out a hat similar to his own. "It's finished." *** She scooted close to him, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Ellis was sitting on top of a building, lying back to look at the stars. * * * Her whole face lit up and she came over to him, hugging him quickly. "Oh, wow, Dion! I love it!" * * * He looked down in surprise before kissing the top of her head, slipping his arms around her.
Blaise climbed up with a frown. "Ellis?" *** He grinned, looking up at her. "You do? I'm glad. However, you have to wear it since you said you would." *** She looked up at him thoughtfully, reaching up at taking his face in her hands, observing his features as her thumb brushed his jaw gently.
He paused, turning his head to look over at her. "Blaise. Hi." * * * "Gladly," she said, setting it on top of her head. * * * He flushed under her gaze, watching her tiredly. "What are you doing?"
She approached, sitting beside him. "How are you?" *** He laughed, sitting back. "You look great." *** She shifted, giving him a kiss. "Admiring you.."
He sat up slowly, not meeting her gaze. "I'm... not great, but I think you can understand that. I'm so sorry, Blaise." * * * She gave him a rare smile, her eyes lit up and excited. "Thank you. I feel regal." * * * He flushed even more, watching her thoughtfully. "You're really beautiful, Rory," he murmured quietly. "Seriously."
She leaned over, hugging him gently. "You don't have to apologize to me." *** He grinning, laughing slightly. "Fantastic." *** She gave him a small smile, brushing his hair back. She opened her mouth to speak. "I..." she began, her words sounding nervous. She frowned slightly, feeling almost unable to get the rest out. It was the nerves, she thought to herself. Fortunately, seeing him always made her feel more relaxed, and she leaned it, giving him a small kiss. She pulled away slightly, their faces still close. "I love you."
He slipped his arms around her waist. “I didn’t do it, Blaise, I swear,” he said tremulously. “At least, I don’t think I did. I’m not a murderer.” *** She adjusted it, returned to her unshaken demeanor. “It’s very well made.” *** He looked at her, his eyes widening slightly. There was a silence as he watched her, seeming unable to process her words. “I’m sorry?”
She rubbed his back gently. "I know.. I don't think you did either." *** He grinned, seeming a bit proud. "I spent time on it." *** She flushed slightly, now looking more nervous again. "I.. I love you."
He exhaled slightly, looking lost. “I just... why can’t I remember it? I don’t remember any of it.” *** “I can tell,” she said quietly, taking off the hat with one hand to inspect it while the other gently caressed his jaw. “It’s wonderful.” *** A slow smile, much like the one that crossed his lips when she spoke to him for the first time, appeared on his face. His face didn’t look nearly so tired. “I love you too,” he replied earnestly.
She sighed, kissing his cheek. "I don't know.." *** He flushed slightly. "I'm glad you think so." *** She grinned, kissing him again.
He watched her, before kissing her lightly, his hands coming up to cup her jaw. "I'm so grateful for you, Blaise." * * * She didn't notice at first, still admiring the hat before she looked up at him, noticing his blush. "What?" * * * He laughed, seemingly unable to stop smiling. "I love you. Wow, that feels so nice to be able to say that. I love you."
She brushed his hair back, watching him. "I wish I could fix this." *** He looked up at her. "I like you very much, you know." *** She grinned, watching him. "I love you."
"I don't want you to worry," he told her with a sigh, pulling away and lying on his back again, looking up at the stars. "I've known Emerson longer than anyone else in the clan. He won't exile me unless he has sufficient evidence. I don't..." He hesitated, as if considering the truth of his words. "I don't think he wants to exile me. I think he's just conflicted." * * * She was not the blushing type, so it would come as a bit of a surprise when he would see a wave of pink crossing the bridge of her nose. She pulled her legs to her chest, putting her hat back on so to shield the sudden flush. "I, uh... Hm. Yes, well... I... I'm quite fond of you as well." * * * He paused, still beaming at her. "I love you," he repeated. "Wow. You've made everything a little better. I love you." He cupped her jaw in his hands and kissed her deeply.
"We'll figure it out," she decided. "It'll be okay." *** He grinned, leaning toward her. "Are you blushing?" *** She smiled against his lips, her hand resting on the side of his neck.
"It will," he agreed, looking up at her with a frown. "Should you even be out here? I'm exiled, you know. You shouldn't have contact with me." * * * She glowered at him, ducking the hat lower to shield her face. "No," she replied flatly. "I just... I suddenly got warm. That's all. Your hat is very insulating." * * * He pulled away after a moment, watching her. "Okay. Okay. I'm respectable again."
She huffed, looking annoyed. Though, he would know it wasnt directed toward him. "I think it's fine. Besides, right now I don't really care what Emerson thinks. I know he's your friend, but.. I'm mad at him right now." *** He grinned, coming close and lifting the hat slightly. "Anybody home?" *** "Respectable? I guess we have different ideas of respectable," she teased.
He laughed, but it sounded sad. “I mean, I get why he’s mad,” he replied, looking up at the stars. “If I killed someone, I shouldn’t be in the clan.” *** She glared at him, her entire face a rosy pink. “First, you make me a hat and tell me I have to wear it. Now that I use it, you try to take it off? Make up your mind.” *** “Respectable might not be the word. Calm. Cool. Collected. Over the fact that the most beautiful girl in the world loves me.”
She sighed, taking his hand. "But you.. I don't think thats you. I don't think you killed anyone." *** He grinned at her. "I just wanna see your face." *** She flushed. "That's not me!"
He squeezed her hand, looking up at the sky for a moment. “I think I love you, Blaise. You don’t have to say it back, but I think I love you.” *** She huffed in exasperation, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I don’t know why I’m blushing. I never blush.” *** “It’s my opinion. Let me have this.”
