He nodded. "Good. Take a break." *** "I don't like to be alone," he said flatly. "Not always. I cause problems when I stay." *** She grinned. "You're cute." *** She looked up at him brightly. "This is exciting."
She nodded, sitting on the arm of his wheelchair. "How are you feeling?" * * * She studied him, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Dion, I don't..." She sighed wearily, shaking her head. "I don't understand. What do you want?" * * * "Heathenous," he muttered playfully, finishing bandaging her up. "There. You're good." * * * "It is. You're quite good, Rory."
"I'm okay. I picked up a bit and put it by the door." *** A strange look crossed his face. "I want to stop being a burden to everyone, Aisling. That's what I want." *** She rolled her eyes playfully, letting go of her shirt. "Thank you." *** She looked down at their feet again. "Not as good as you."
"My hero," she teased, kissing his jaw quickly. "Thank you." * * * She blinked in surprise before coming and sitting next to him tentatively. "What do you mean?" * * * "Mm, you're welcome," he said, lying back on the pillows again and returning to his notes, holding the pen loosely in his fingers as he rested his head on her shoulder. * * * "Yes, well... I am excellent at everything," he replied arrogantly, giving her a boyish grin. "Everything I do."
He grinned. "Would you like to save the rest for when I can help? I don't want you to have to clean out the whole thing." *** "I am on my own because my brain just.. doesn't function to stay in a group. I just can't do it. Whenever I try I just eventually mess up." *** She relaxed, reaching over and taking the pen and his hand, drawing something on the back of it. *** She grinned playfully. "Everything?"
“No, I can do it,” she protested, standing up. “I’m tough.” *** “That’s not true...” she said slowly. “You don’t mess it all up.” *** He looked over at her. “What are you doing?” *** “Yup. Name something.”
He frowned slightly. "I want to help.." *** He laughed, but it didn't sound happy. "Right." *** She turned his hand and showed him a small heart she had drawn. *** "Hm... Taming chickens?"
“Nah, Jaz. I’m crazy good at this.” * * * She squinted at him for a moment before leaning forward and kissing him, her hand coming up to cup her cheek. *** He looked over at her with a small smile. “Beautiful!” *** “Oh, I am amazing at taming chickens”
He sighed. "I know, but.." *** He kissed her back before pulling away, looking rather unsure of himself. "Why..?" *** She grinned before giving him a quick kiss. *** "What else are you good at?" she asked curiously.
"Don't worry, sweetheart," she said easily, coming over to him. "I want to do this." * * * She looked down, looking as if she might be uncertain herself. "We can resume fighting in the morning," she said quietly after a moment. "But right now, you're sad and I'm sad and we're both tired and I don't think it's worth it." * * * He squeezed her hand, kissing her back before pulling away, eyeing her brightly. "Weirdo." * * * "Anything," he said playfully, draping an arm over her shoulders.
He looked up at her gratefully. "Thank you." *** He sighed. "I don't want to fight anymore." *** "I am not a weirdo," she told him defiantly. "You are." *** She raised an eyebrow teasingly. "That's a lot."
She gave him a grin, leaning down to kiss him lightly before returning to the chimney. * * * Aisling frowned, shaking her head slowly. "I don't much like it either," she admitted, looking down at the ground. * * * "Weirdo!" he exclaimed, leaning down and kissing her cheek. "You're a weirdo!" * * * "I'm especially good at bragging."
He watched her affectionately, leaning back. *** "I wish I was easier to understand." *** She rested a hand on his chest as she laughed. "I am not!" *** "Apparently!"
She ducked back under the chimney, humming quietly to herself. * * * She laughed slightly, watching him thoughtfully. "Yeah. Me too." * * * "Yes, you are!" he replied, taking her hand and kissing the palm of it. "You're a total weirdo!" * * * He laughed, leaning down and kissing her temple. "Sorry. I don't know what came over me."
He waited for her, keeping nearby. *** He looked over at her. "Why can't it just be normal again?" *** "Ugh! You're a weirdo too!" *** She grinned. "You wanted to impress the girl you like?"
She returned a while later, coughing from the soot. "There. I think I did it." * * * She frowned, looking down at the floor. "Because I don't know what you want, Dion. I don't know what you want me to do." * * * He laughed, shifting to kiss her, his arms wrapped around her waist. "Hush!" * * * "Sh, don't tell her," he said flatly, kissing the top of her head. "Keep my secret."
He tilted his head. "I'm proud of you, but you should shower and get some fresh air." *** "I want you," he said simply. "I love you." *** She kissed him deeply, her arms over his shoulders. *** She rolled her eyes. "It's safe with me."
She squinted at him before sighing, coming over to him and wheeling him. "Fine. Where do you want to go first?" * * * She frowned, flushing lightly as she considered him. There was a silence before she leaned forward and kissed him again. * * * He responded eagerly, kissing her back as his fingers brushed through her hair. * * * "Thanks," he said. "I love you."
"You need to clean up. I'll go to my room for a bit." *** He reached up and brushed her jaw, kissing her back. *** She held his face in her hands before pulling away slightly, their noses brushing. *** "I love you too," she said brightly, observing him with a grin. "You're fantastic."
She frowned, looking down at him. "Well, let me wheel you back, then." * * * She came closer to him tentatively, her arms slipping over his shoulders as she moved closer to him, deepening the kiss. * * * He looked at her breathlessly, his grey eyes bright. "...Blaise?" * * * He rolled his eyes before swooping down to pick her up easily. "Didn't we already establish that I'm too bigheaded as it is?"
