He wrapped his arms around her with a small smile. "So are you." *** "Mm. I suppose. Though I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait."
Her hands came up to cup his jaw and she kissed him slowly, seemingly content with his proximity. “That doesn’t mean I don’t think you suck,” she murmured. *** “That’s the surprise, baby. You won’t know when to expect it.”
"My feelings are still hurt." *** She nodded slowly, still seeming a little confused as she wrapped her arms around him.
She laughed slightly, resting her head in the curve of his neck. "Hmph. Sensitive." * * * He slipped his arms around her waist and kissed her gently, his hand coming up to cup her jaw.
She closed her eyes, her leg resting on top of his hip and her face buried in his neck. *** He pulled her close, watching her thoughtfully. “I promise it’ll be worth it.”
He held her close, his eyes closed as he started to drift off. *** She gave him a small smile, before shutting her eyes. "I trust you."
Blaise carried a box in, Jaz doing the same. They set them inside, where they would be sorted and stored or made ready. Rory was sweeping up some of the dirt, whistling lightly as she worked. Dion was cleaning up as well, picking up the rubbish and any debris and disposing of it.
They had each been assigned houses over the last week. The Clan had done amazing work cleaning it all out, working as a cohesive unit to prepare for the winter. Ellis set his box in his home, craning his head back to look at the ceiling tiredly. Lucy was already up in her workshop. It was up in the trees above, but easily accessed by the rope ladder that brushed against the ground. Emerson was orchestrating the move, directing the movers to their appropriate areas. Aisling had just returned from scouting their older resources. She looked pleased but tired as she entered the camp, her brows furrowed.
Blaise stretched her arms, which were a bit sore, before heading to meet Ellis. Jaz had brought in the last box before standing and dusting off his hands. He yawned, then went to look for the workshop, still not familiar with the surroundings. Rory was still polishing some things up, but paused to look at the pond. Dion looked up, approaching Aisling.
He exited his house, sighing a little as he sat by his part of the pond. * * * Jaz would eventually find it, approaching an old rope ladder that led up to the canopy above. If he looked up, he would barely be able to see a wooden workshop, hidden among the branches. Turning gears along the outside wall indicated the inner workings within. * * * It was actually a small stream, the mouth coming from deep within the cave, some sort of underwater spring. It flowed through the camp, acting as a playplace for some of the children. * * * She looked up when he approached, raising an eyebrow. "Hello."
Blaise noticed, approaching him with a tilted head. "Hey.. You alright?" *** He pursed his lips and began to climb the rope ladder. *** She followed the stream curiously, broom still in hand. *** "Hey there. Everything go okay?"
He looked up at her and brightened, reaching for her. "Hi. Yes. Just tired. Are you doing okay?" * * * When he got to the top, he would find a door made of glass and metal scraps. Through it, he would see Lucy standing by the wall, pinning up some blueprints distractedly before returning to her desk, tinkering with something. * * * Eventually, she'd get to the back, where the water seemed to pool at the mouth of the stream. It seemed as though the water was sourced from some deep underground spring, and this was where it surfaced. * * * She nodded slowly, pursing her lips thoughtfully. "Yes, actually. Everything is where it should be. I'm looking forward to showing you around."
She took his hands with a grin. "I'm okay. It's coming together. Do you need help with anything?" *** He smiled slightly. "Hey, Luce. What are you up to?" *** She pursed her lips before going over to Emerson, swatting him in the legs playfully with the broom. *** He grinned. "I look forward to seeing all of it."
"Nah," he said, standing up and kissing her lightly. "How's your place?" * * * She looked up in surprise before obviously brightening, coming over to him. "Hi! I'm working on a new invention. You know bats?" * * * He looked over at her in surprise, a small smile on his mouth. "Excuse you. What was that for?" * * * She looked up at him thoughtfully before giving him a somewhat awkward but still loving embrace. "I want to show you everything, you know. I keep on walking around and thinking about you."
