"I like having you near." *** He sat up, reaching to grab his shirt. *** He laughed slightly before jumping in.
"I know, baby. You've told me." * * * She watched him for a moment before reaching over and doing the same. * * * She swam back to give him room, watching him thoughtfully. "It's nice, right?"
"A whole lot." *** He flushed slightly, grabbing his pants and pulling them on before standing up and doing the same with his shirt. *** He slicked his hair back. "It is."
He rolled his eyes before coming over to a small oak table. "What about this one?" * * * She watched him thoughtfully, lying back as she studied him. "You're pretty cute, J," she teased, resting her head on his hand. * * * Her eyes were soft and she came over to him, draping her arms over his shoulders hesitantly before kissing him gently.
"I like it," she said, coming over and draping herself over it dramatically. "Blehhh." *** He looked back at her with a grin. "You're sweet." *** He kissed her back, a hand on her waist.
He laughed deeply. "What was that?" * * * She shrugged playfully before pointing. "Could you toss me my pants?" * * * Her lips were chilled from the water, but she sighed in contentment, holding him close. "I think you're wonderful."
"I'm being dramatic!" *** He did as she asked, tossing them to her. *** He smiled slowly. "I think you are too."
"I see," he said slowly before falling back on the table. "Bleh!" * * * She slipped them on, looking over at him thoughtfully. "I love you." * * * She gave him a small smile, kissing the tip of his nose. "I'm serious, Di. I've never felt like this about anyone."
She grinned, moving over to kiss his cheek. *** He smile brightly. "I love you too." *** "I know you're serious," he told her. "So am I."
He looked over at her playfully. "But you like this one?" * * * She sat up, coming over to him and kissing his cheek before heading for the door, her hands in her back pockets. * * * She gave him her rare smile, tucking his wet hair behind his ear gently.
She nodded, standing up and offering her hand. *** He followed her out. *** He kissed her nose before going under.
"Okay. We gotta grab this one too." * * * She went down the ladder and got to the bottom, looking around curiously. "Where's your place?" * * * She blinked in surprise, pulling away before going under as well.
She nodded. "Sounds good." *** He looked around. "This way." *** He reemerged a bit away, looking around.
"What other furniture might you need?" * * * "Can I see it?" * * * She had not emerged from the water.
Aisling, Ellis and Jaz were scouting out the deep city, moving through the buildings. "Do you know where you're going, Jaz?" Aisling asked quietly, her brow furrowed.
He looked back at her, his head tilted slightly. "Of course. I've been through this city plenty. This is a safer area."
She huffed, rolling her shoulders. Jaz would have been with her enough to recognize this as much of a nervous reflex as Aisling indulged. "If you're sure." Ellis looked over at her, raising one eyebrow. "Loosen up, Ass*squee!*. Jaz is just doing his work."
