Jaz didn't remark on the nickname, instead continuing on. As they walked, they didn't find much in the area. Just broken down buildings and empty streets scarce of any life. At the end of the street was a tall building. The windows were broken out and boarded up and it was falling apart. Jaz looked up at it with a frown, as if looking at something familiar. He went to the door and pushed on it, causing it to creak open. He looked inside and squinted in the darkness. He paused, seeing something. A door. A dark, dingy black door that had haunted him in his dreams for many years of his life. He slammed the main entrance shut, his face pale.
"What do you mean?" Ellis asked, frowning. Aisling squinted, looking at where he was going. "What's wrong with it?"
They returned to the camp and Emerson looked up from directing some moving of materials. He frowned before approaching the crew. "You're all back early."
He looked puzzled before pointing towards his house. "Yeah, she's taking a nap on my couch," he said, confused. "What's going on?" Lucy approached the group, looking happy to see him. "Hey, J!"
He relaxed slightly. "Hey Luce.." He paused again, turning to Emerson. "I need to talk to her. It's important."
Lucy frowned, tilting her head. "What's going on?" "You're welcome to go talk to her," Emerson said, gesturing with his hand.
She blinked before turning to the others. "What happened?" Ellis crossed his arms, frowning. "I don't know... we were in the deep city and he saw something and started getting really nervous..." Aisling huffed, running her fingers through her hair. "He wouldn't talk about it on the way back. I'm going back out so this wasn't a total waste of time."
(Short zoop) Both Rory and Jaz came out of the house, looking somewhat upset. Rory had her arms crossed and was biting her lip nervously. Jaz was frowning, his posture tense.
Emerson and Lucy had been speaking quietly, but they both looked up when their partners approached. "Is everything okay?" Lucy asked gently.
Rory hesitated, looking down slightly. "There's a place in the city," she said slow, as if she were doubting herself. "I want to go see it. It's.. I feel like we need to see it."
