She quieted for a moment, shaking her head slightly. Jaz spoke up. "Where we used to be.." He frowned. "Before the clan."
Lucy's face softened and she took Jaz's hand gently. "Are you sure you want to do that?" Emerson studied her with a frown before shaking his head slowly. "You shouldn't go back there, Rory. It's not safe."
He looked confused, tilting his head slightly. "The same way I knew your name, your clan, and the fact that you're selectively mute when we first met," he replied. "I make a point of gathering information on other people in other clans."
She stared at him for a moment before shaking her head slightly, looking resigned. "I want to go back and look."
Emerson still looked unsure, but Lucy spoke up. “If they feel like they should go, they should go,” she said, squeezing Jaz’s hand. “Can we have some people come with you guys just in case? It doesn’t have to be Emerson and I if you don’t want it to be, but I’d feel better knowing that you guys have protection.”
Jaz nodded, opening the door again. "This is it." Rory didn't say anything, going inside and to the door in the back.
