"Yeah. They still have those little table things at the enclosures that tells you what animal they are." She pointed to the aquarium. "Want to check that out?" *** He smiled at her her slowly. "You make it so subtle." *** "That kind of makes sense.. But how do you end it?"
"Aqu...aquarium..." He read slowly, frowning. "What's that?" * * * "I don't have much in this world that I love," she stated, raising an eyebrow. "But I love Cody. Let me be happy." * * * "Like this. You make a loop and slip the needle through it to tie it off." She demonstrated slowly. "See?"
"Some kind of fish place? I'm not sure how to pronounce it correctly. I haven't been inside yet." *** "I wouldn't dream of depriving you from Cody. You make each other very happy." *** "That part looks hard."
"Well, God. This is a big moment for both of us, then." * * * She laughed. It was a surprisingly sweet laugh for such a serious person, warm and lilting. "Yes, we do. Thank you for noticing." * * * "Don't worry," she reassured him. "I'll help you when you get to that part."
She laughed, shaking her head as she started for it. "Jeez, let's just go in." *** "It's hard not to notice," he replied cheekily, heading inside. *** He nodded slowly, setting down the mattress again.
“Blaise!” he exclaimed playfully. “You need to embrace the moment!” *** “Let me have this secret happiness, Dion,” she said wryly. *** “There. Sit on it. It should be silent.”
She laughed, pulling open the creaky door. "Just c'mon." *** "I'm not going to take it away." *** He nodded, sitting down on the mattress.
"Hm. Fine," he teased with a small smirk. "Don't enjoy the finer things." * * * "Thank God," she teased, raising one eyebrow. * * * It didn't squeak.
She rolled her eyes, slipping in. *** He squinted at her, heading upstairs. *** He nodded, standing up. "Looks like its fixed."
He followed her, ducking his head to avoid the top of the doorframe. "You said you haven't been in here before?" he asked quietly. * * * She followed him. "Don't you have anything you love?" * * * "Amazing," she said, standing up. "What a rush! You know?"
She nodded, standing back. It was a black hallway, completely dark except for the dim glow cause by something ahead. "Yeah.. First time." *** He frowned, looking back at her. "What do you mean?" *** He seemed confused, looking at her with raised eyebrows. "A rush?"
He squinted in the dim light, frowning warily. "Here, Blaise," he said gently, his hand on her shoulder. "Let me go first, alright?" * * * "You know, like Cody and I," she persisted, braiding her long, dark brown hair as they spoke, her tattooed fingers slipping through the locks of hair. "Don't you have anything you love so wholeheartedly like that?" * * * "Yeah, like... a boost. You figured out how to fix something," she explained, her enthusiasm diminished by his clear lack of understanding. "You know...? You fixed something for someone else. Now, they're going to get into bed tonight and have no squeaks."
She looked up at him curiously. "Hm? Alright. Let's get going, then." *** He looked thoughtful, scratching his temple. "I like traveling. I like collecting things.. I think I might go on a trip soon." *** He nodded slowly, looking like he was starting to understand. "I see.. Yeah, I guess it is rather rewarding."
He nodded, taking the lead, his hand on his gun in the darkness as they moved forward towards that light. * * * "A trip?" she asked thoughtfully, looking over at him. "A trip where?" * * * She frowned, but tilted her head slightly, considering him. "We'll get you there," she said, a hint of playfulness in her voice.
She stuck close, her arm brushing his as they walked. The source of the flow would become apparent. Another large hallway appeared, but this time it seemed to a glass tube shape, water surrounding all sides but the floor. However, instead of being a thriving blue, it was green and still, too cloudy to see through. *** He shrugged. "I'm not sure. Just somewhere." *** He blinked. "What do you mean?"
He frowned, tipping his head back to look as they walked towards the glass hallway. "This looks... wrong. Why is it green?" * * * "On your own?" she asked, sounding a little worried. * * * "You'll get the rush of adrenaline when you fix stuff. It's addicting."
She frowned, but still had a sort of interest as she looked against the glass, squinting to try and see anything. "I'm not sure. It's creepy." *** He tilted his head. "Yes, on my own. Like I usually do." *** "Hm," he murmured. "Maybe that's just you."
He felt unnerved, his hand reaching out to touch her arm. "Blaise, be careful. I don't feel good about this..." * * * "That doesn't sound safe," she said, keeping the worriedness out of her voice. "How far away are you thinking of going?" * * * "Well, as I say, we'll get you there," she said, a teasing tone to her voice.
She looked back playfully, returning to him. "Do you want me to hold your hand?" *** "I don't know," he replied simply. "I don't have a set destination." *** He tilted his head playfully. "Have you considered that you're just a weirdo?'
He squinted at her before continuing down the hallway. "When you narrowly avoid death," he said, "you'll thank me." * * * "So you just like to travel?" she asked conversationally, tilting her head. * * * "Hey!" she replied playfully, raising one eyebrow. "I am not!"
