"I didn't know that happened to you. I'm sorry, Aisling." *** "Really?" *** She squinted at him. "Aside from the obvious, I'd be just fine."
She squinted at him, looking confused. “Why are you apologizing?” she asked indignantly, sniffling. “I’m the one who tricked you... I let you believe that I was pure and good and clean. I tricked you. I’m a gross, used murderer. I’m so sorry, Dion.” *** “I’m extremely curious,” she admitted. “But only if you’re comfortable. He did take my handkerchief.” *** He laughed sadly, his fingers intertwining with hers. “Come on.”
He tilted his head, reaching over and brushing her hair back. "My opinion of you never changed. Living in this world.. Well... People should expect some sort of tragedy, right? I didn't fall in love with any past versions of you. I fell in love with the one right here." *** "You gave it to him.. We could follow, I suppose." *** She stood up and took her things. "Where are we going?"
She leaned into his touch, tears in her eyes as she considered him. “I love you,” she said after a moment, her voice small. “I love you so much, Dion.” *** “Do you want to? We could. We don’t have to.” *** “The city,” he said, kissing her temple. “Back at your place.”
He kissed her cheek gently. "I love you too, Aisling." *** He pursed his lips. "Do you want to?" *** She nodded slowly. "Alright.'
She closed her eyes, tears slipping down her cheek as he kissed her. “I’m so embarrassed,” she muttered, wiping away her tears. “I’m not supposed to cry.” *** “As I say, I’m very curious.” *** (Zoop?)
She opened her eyes and looked at him, a small, sad smile on her face. “No, I can’t,” she replied. “We were taught never to cry. It lost business.” *** “It’s okay. We can go back.” *** They returned to the silent building, climbing the stairs and returning to Emerson’s room.
His thumb brushed her cheek. "I'm not here for business purposes." *** "No, we can follow him, if you want." *** She was quiet, which wasn't normally unusual for her, but it was unusual for her when she was with him. She seemed distracted, her gaze thoughtful and lost.
She turned her head, kissing the palm of his hand. “I figured,” she replied tiredly. “I really hoped you weren’t.” *** She raised an eyebrow. “The decision is yours.” *** He sat on the edge of the bed, looking up at her and opening his arms to her.
He smiled. "Let's get our mind off of things.. How about you help me learn to drive?" *** "We will be here for years." *** She observed him before going into his arms, hugging him tightly.
She looked down at the car wheel for a moment. “How to drive? It’s not difficult. Here, come sit in the driver’s seat.” *** “Let’s follow him.” *** He brushed his fingers through her hair gently. “It’ll be alright.”
He nodded, getting out to get in the driver's seat. *** He nodded and offering his hand. *** "I hope so.."
She sat in the passenger’s, looking over at him and kissing his cheek. “Okay. See the two pedals by your feet?” *** She took it. *** He laid back on the pillows, holding her close. “It’s okay.”
He looked down with a nod. "Yeah." *** He started to follow the man with a sigh. *** She sighed, burying her face in his neck.
"The big one in the center will stop you. The little one on the right will make you go faster. The wheel in front of you changes the direction you go, obviously. Give it a try." * * * She followed him, her eyes keen. * * * He rubbed her back slowly. "Try and sleep."
He nodded, carefully trying it out. *** He seemed uncertain, looking around nervously. *** "Okay. You'll stay with me?"
The car didn't move and she looked down. "Oh, sorry. I forgot to tell you to take it out of park." She pulled back the handle. "Now go." * * * Lucy, for her part, looked excited, following behind the man. * * * "Of course. I won't leave your side."
He pursed his lips, trying again. *** They went unnoticed, sticking behind him for quite sometime. *** She nodded, closing her eyes. It didnt take long for her to sleep.
The car rolled forward. She nodded approvingly. "Good. Put your hands here and here on the steering wheel," she said gently, directing his hands. * * * "Do you know any places near where he's going?" * * * He didn't sleep for a long time before drifting off.
