"Yes, I know you would." *** He sat aside, leaning back. *** She nodded, standing up. *** He was holding his hand to his nose, closing a nostril so it wouldn't bleed. "What did she tell you?"
"I will always defend your honor," she teased. * * * (Zoop?) * * * He went towards the door, humming under his breath. * * * Ellis squinted at the man. "I'm sure you can guess. You need to leave."
"I appreciate that. I don't have much honor, though." *** (Yoop!) *** She listened thoughtfully, saying nothing. *** He raised an eyebrow. "If she's here? Gladly. She's insane."
"Sure, you do," she said lightly, lying on her back and looking at the stars. * * * (Zoop?) * * * Ellis' eyes narrowed. "Don't talk about her. Just go."
"I'm proud that I have you." *** (Yoop!) *** "You don't know anything about her," he said lowly, heading to the door.
She flushed, looking over at him. "You're cute." * * * "I know enough," he replied sharply. "Get the hell out."
He grinned at her. "Thanks." *** He raised his hands in surrender, opening the door and heading out. Blaise watched him, her arms folding.
She sighed, leaning down and resting her head on his shoulder. "You should sleep." * * * Ellis looked over at her, raising one eyebrow. "You okay?"
He kissed her temple. "I will if you do." *** "I can't believe he's back," she said simply. "I really thought he was gone for good."
"Busy days make for restful nights," she replied lightly. "Let's both sleep, okay?" * * * "What happened? How long ago did he try to kill you?"
He nodded, putting an arm around her. "I love you." *** "A few years ago." She paused, frowning. "We.. We were dating. I was the reason he was let in our clan and he used it against me."
She leaned up against him, sighing contentedly as she closed her eyes. "I love you too." * * * Ellis' face darkened. "Oh. So I really should have beat him up."
He grinned, keeping close and closing his eyes. *** She took his hand. "Don't fight someone on my behalf."
