She nodded before leaning forward in interest. "Your turn." *** He frowned. "Oh.. I mostly prefer to keep on my own."
He blinked, turning his head to look at her in surprise. “My turn? For what?” *** “You’re a lone wolf?” she asked amusedly.
"Your story," she replied, a small smile on her face. "If you're willing to share." *** He squinted at her, folding his arms. "I don't know."
She would see something fall in his face, but he covered it quickly. “There’s not much to tell,” he told her, tilting his head. *** She rolled her eyes, raising one eyebrow. “Yup. Definitely a lone wolf.”
She noticed, her head tilting her head before patting his leg. "Ah, well. Fine with me." *** He huffed. "Is that supposed to be an insult?"
He offered her a smile, looking almost grateful. "I'll tell you some other time," he said. "Okay?" * * * "A little bit, yes."
He sighed, folding his arms across his chest and leaning back against the wall, watching her thoughtfully. "So Dion is your brother? Or is he a cousin?" * * * She looked at him, adopting a puzzled expression. "You deserve this because you're a lone wolf. Obviously."
"Brother," she replied, crossing her arms. "You know, this is going to be a crazy story." *** "That doesn't mean anything."
He frowned, tilting his head as he considered her. "What is? The Great Lion Incident? Or the Great Lion Incident Part II: The Janitor's Closet?" * * * "Sure it does," she replied, cracking her fingers one-by-one as they walked. "It means you're dramatic and... you know. Edgy."
"How about.. The Great Zoo Adventure, part 3, The Aquarium?" *** "I didn't know solitude was considered edgy."
"Part one, the journey. Part two, the infiltration." *** "I don't do the things I do so people think I'm cool," he said flatly.
He laughed, leaning back comfortably. "You should write a book." * * * "Are you sure?" she teased, raising one eyebrow.
She grinned. "I write in my journal. I think this will be going in there." *** Hey squinted at her for a long moment. "Remember when you got trapped inside of a building and I let you out? Because I certainly remember."
"Oh? Am I in it?" he teased, stretching his arms leisurely. * * * "That's great," she shot back. "Remember when you went traveling on your own and had to get rescued by me? Because I do."
"You are," she confirmed. *** "I don't recall ever having to rescued, especially since you were the only threat."
He blinked in surprise, tilting his head. "Wait, really? You wrote about me in your journal?" * * * "I'm psychic. I can see into the future. It will happen."
