He glanced over teasingly. "Hm. Just your hat." *** She didn't seem to mind, resting her arms over his legs.
She laughed out loud in surprise. "Really?" * * * He squinted at her, leaning back. "You're supposed to be irritated."
He nodded. "Yeah. I told you I would." *** She looked over at him with a raised brow. "Would you be irritated?"
"No, not at all. You can't go back on your deal." *** She turned as well, slightly intertwining their legs to rest hers as well. "Nope."
"I will certainly wear it," she said smoothly, her low voice uncharacteristically warm as she glanced at him from the corner of her eye. "If you finish it, that is." * * * He laughed lightly, leaning forward to rest his hands on her knees. "You continue to surprise me." * * * Jaz would feel a slight pressure on his shoulder. Lucy had drifted off, her sleepless nights catching up to her, and her head had found a place on his shoulder, her nose brushing his skin.
He smiled slightly, his gaze not leaving his work. "Of course I'll finish it." *** She leaned back with a small grin. "All good things, I hope." *** Jaz looked over, blinking in confusion. He flushed slightly before forcing it away, looking out the window again.
"Then I guess I'll be wearing a hat," she replied. * * * "Of course, Blaisey," he said, raising an eyebrow. "All good things."
She huffed slightly, glancing over at him. "Can I make you wear anything I make?" * * * Ellis glanced up and saw that Lucy was asleep against Jaz's shoulder. He frowned, tilting his head. "Oh, sorry, Jaz. I can wake her up for you," he said, reaching to shake her awake gently.
He grinned at her. "Only if it's decently fashionable." *** He looked back, his brows furrowed slightly. "I don't mind, really. I wouldn't want to wake her."
"Oh, you have criteria?" she responded, raising one eyebrow. * * * He withdrew his hand slightly, his brow furrowed. "You sure?"
"Would there even be arm holes?" *** Jaz said nothing more, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. *** Blaise looked out of the window, her expression peaceful.
