He squinted before wiping away the grease. "I'm okay." *** Dion looked over at her before getting his bed roll and laying it down. *** Blaise took her bed roll as well, setting it down.
She blinked in surprise, but her eyes met his and she gave him a small grin. "Great. I'm glad. Let's head back, okay?" * * * She turned on the car and turned on the music, grabbing some stuff from the glove compartment and returning with large bottles of alcohol and setting them down. Ellis sat down next to Blaise, frowning at Aisling. "Where did you get that?" "An old store in the city," she said casually. "I felt that this was as good a time as any."
He nodded, going back to the car. *** Dion leaned back. "It's been awhile since I last had alcohol." Blaise looked up. "I remember when we did. It was for Garcia's birthday and some people got completely wasted."
“That’ll happen,” Ellis said with a shrug. He looked over at Blaise with a teasing smile. “Bet you’re a total lightweight.” Aisling squinted at Dion. “I can’t imagine you drunk.”
She looked hesitant. "Are you?" Dion pursed his lips, his hands folded. "Hm.. Let's just say I feel more talkative."
He considered this thoughtfully before his gaze flickered up to her. "I used to drink quite a bit when I was younger," he replied with a small smile. "Not an alcoholic level, but... frequently. So I've learned to hold it pretty well." "Oh, excellent," Aisling said, offering him a beer. Lucy went into the car and pulled out a bedroll before frowning. "Jaz... where's your bedroll?"
She pursed her lips. "I see. I am alone in this battle, then." Dion took it, giving a nod of thanks as he went to open it. Jaz scratched the back of his head, going to check. "I thought I put it back there."
“I don’t drink much,” he amended. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you don’t do anything stupid.” Aisling downed a beer in a matter of seconds, setting the empty bottle down at her side. Lucy looked over at him with something like affection. “Did you forget it?”
She rolled her eyes, taking one and offering him another. "I'll be fine." Dion looked over at her with a raised eyebrow, having his as a slower pace. Jaz frowned, looking through the car. "I thought I had it.. I'll just sleep in the car."
He gave a nod of thanks, ruffling her hair before lying back on his bed. She raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know how to drink.” She squinted at him. “Don’t be ridiculous. We can share mine.”
She pulled her knees to her chest, drinking and watching the fire. Dion looked over at her. "What do you mean?" Jaz frowned. "You don't have to do that."
He tapped her back with his foot playfully. “You need to drink it quickly,” she replied with one brow raised. “No, no,” she insisted. “It’s good. You can’t sleep in the car.”
She looked over at him with a raised eyebrow, her expression thoughtful and curious. He frowned, looking down at the drink. "Why?" Jaz looked uncertain, closing up the trunk. "I wouldn't want to intrude."
He grinned before kicking her again. “Then you feel the warmth immediately,” she explained, as if it were obvious. She squinted at him. “Don’t be ridiculous. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I thought you were sleeping in the car. I won’t take up too much space, don’t worry.”
"You have a kicking problem," she told him playfully. "I'm just going to drink it my way." Jaz frowned, folding his arms. "Okay.."
“I’m well aware,” he replied, kicking her again. Aisling rolled her eyes, turning on the car radio. “Suit yourself.” She nodded, heading back to the fire and rolling out the bedroll.
She put a hand on his leg to stop him. He looked over at her thoughtfully before drinking it a bit quicker. Jaz sat by the fire, folding his legs.
He sat up quickly, squinting st her. “This means war.” She laughed lightly. “There you go.” Lucy tipped her head back, looking at the stars for a moment before grabbing them both a beer, offering one to Jaz.
She squinted, leaning away. "I'll fight you." Dion frowned. "Hmph.. It's just because you said." Jaz took it, giving a small thanks.
A couple hours later, Aisling was braiding Dion’s hair slowly. Ellis was sitting right next to the fire, running his fingers through it, and Lucy was trying to teach Jaz how to dance.
