He knelt at the shore. "You're insane." *** "Yeah," he said. "Me neither." *** Blaise stood, returning to the sand castle as she began decorating.
She slicked her wet hair back, bobbing in the water. “I’m a badass. There’s a difference.” *** “Nah,” she said decisively. “You’re brave.” *** Ellis approached her a while later, holding something behind his back.
He offered his hand to help her out. "You're both." *** "Not when it comes to jumping off cliffs." *** She didn't notice at first, adding the finishing touches.
She took his hand, her skin cold as she got out. Her travelers clothes, the long drapings that she normally wore, were soaked through, heavy wet linen draping over her. She looked down at herself with a frown. “Huh.” *** “Maybe not,” she agreed playfully. “I’m going to go get her some clothes...” *** He sat down next to her, watching her carefully.
He gave her a small smile. "Did you bring an extra change of clothes?" *** "I'll wait here for you, then." *** She looked over at him, her expression a bit nervous.
“Not for any more day,” she said with a small shrug. “It’s alright. I’ll make it work.” *** She nodded, heading over to the car. *** He paused before offering her the bouquet of wildflowers he had hidden behind his back.
He laughed slightly. "You can borrow one of my shirts if you need to." *** He waited patiently for her. *** She took them carefully, looking confused. "What's this for?"
“I might take you up on that,” she admitted, squeezing the water out of her hair. *** Lucy returned a few minutes later holding a pair of pants and looking concerned. “I only have an extra pair of pants,” she said worriedly. *** He looked equally confused. "For you."
Dion looked over at Lucy. "She can borrow one of my shirts. I don't mind." He looked to Aisling. "Want to get to the car to get it and change?" *** She held them gently. "Why..? Shouldn't I be the one apologizing?"
She nodded, starting to shiver a little. "Yes, please." * * * He laughed, his brows furrowing in confusion. "Why are you sorry? Just because the timing was a little off..."
He nodded, taking the pants and starting towards the car with her. *** "The timing? You don't want a relationship and I kissed you."
She followed, thanking Lucy quietly as she passed. Lucy returned to Jaz, her lips pursed worriedly. * * * He seemed shocked by this analysis. "I don't want a relationship? What makes you say that?!"
They went to the car. Jaz looked over at Lucy. "You look worried." *** "You said you didn't want it this way! I'm not dumb! I can take a hint."
Aisling got to the car, getting in to change. * * * She frowned, watching them go. "I should have brought an extra shirt," she mused. "What if Dion's doesn't fit? Maybe she can take mine and I can take hers. I'm warm blooded, I'll dry off right away." * * * He listened to her words for a moment before promptly leaning forward and kissing her, cupping her jaw in his hands.
He waited outside for her, looking at the sea. *** "It'll be okay, Luce. Dion is good at making things work last minute." *** She flushed, kissing him back despite her confusion.
She came out a few minutes later, crossing her arms uncomfortably. "How does Lucy wear pants like this?" she complained, frowning. "They're so... tight." Lucy was actually about a size bigger than Aisling, but she looked down at them, frowning. * * * She exhaled, shaking her head. "You're right, you're right..." * * * He pulled away slightly, raising an eyebrow. "I just wanted to find you flowers first, you ridiculous thing," he murmured. "That's all I meant."
He laughed slightly, offering his arm playfully. "They look just fine. Shall we?" *** He turned, gesturing to them. "See? There they are now." *** She looked at him with wide eyes before glaring. "You chose terrible wording."
She blinked at him in confusion before taking his arm uncertainly, as if she wasn't quite sure if that's what he wanted her to do. * * * Lucy noticed this action, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Do you think there's something between them? Aisling never does that kind of stuff." * * * "I didn't mean to cause confusion," he said honestly. "I just wanted to make sure it was right."
He grinned, starting back. "Does the shirt fit alright?" *** He frowned. "I'm not sure. They seem somewhat alike." *** "So.. You needed to get me flowers first?"
"Better than the pants do," she said with a small sigh. "Thanks for letting me borrow it." * * * "What is it with everyone from your clan dating everyone from my clan?" she said, sounding amused. "Are they that starved for attention?" * * * "Well... yeah. I wanted to make it... you know. Nice."
