She laughed, pouring him a mug of tea and opening a cupboard, pulling out some biscuits, setting them on a plate before going over to the table and gesturing for him to sit down.
He reached into his bag hesitantly before pulling out the clock and setting it on the table. "I, er.. found this for you a bit ago. I tried fixing it up before giving it to you but it was difficult for me to understand since I'm no good with that sort of thing."
She blinked in surprise, looking down at the clock with wide eyes before she grinned. "Jaz, this is so sweet!" she exclaimed, her fingers brushing over the clock. She looked up at him brightly. "Thank you! But... I don't get it. My birthday isn't for another 5 months."
He looked confused for a moment before shaking his head. "I didn't get the clock because of your birthday. I got the clock because, well.. I like you, Lucy. Like, a lot. More than a friend kind of like."
She blinked, looking at him with wide eyes. "You... you like me?" she asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
She paused, watching him thoughtfully before a slow grin crossed her lips. "I see. That's really, really good, because I'm pretty fond of you too."
She couldn't seem to stop smiling at him, resting her head on her hand as her bright eyes met his. "Yeah, Jaz," she said easily, reaching across to him with her free hand to brush her thumb over his cheekbone, "in more than a friend day."
She laughed, watching him curiously as a flush crossed the bridge of her nose. "I didn't expect you to be so forward about it."
“No, this was very sweet. I love it,” she said easily, grinning at him before brushing her fingers through his hair tentatively. “I like you.”
She laughed, standing up and stretching, finishing her tea. “Well, luckily for you, I think you’re really sweet and cute and lovely.”
