Hah, I had to look him up also. I kind of feel dumb now. Oh well, not my fault, I've never watched any of the Twilight movies. And hell no, I would not go gay for him. He looks like a creep, both in the movies and in real life. :derpe:
I totally love Nathan Fillion as well as Lyndsy Fonseca. I don't think it's weird at all, just odd to come to terms with or grasp.
Yes, I think you can be in love with a character that's fictional, whether it's a character from MLP or some other show. But, I do agree that you should be careful not to turn it into an out-right obsession, which can become dangerous.
Love is such a strange word these days. One could say it to simply state the affection they have for X thing. Which would be a yes to your question. Or for a more deep and detailed feeling which DanSze mentioned. Meaning no apparently.
I don't think you really could be in love with this object, but you could definitely develop an obsession about it because it represents to you things in reality you could be in love with.
