A creeper blows up and you drop the diamond. I pick it up before you re-spawn and switch the mode to peaceful. I then tape the diamond to Princess Celestia's horn without her noticing. No way to get that thing off without invoking Molestia's, rather large, wrath.
XD, well I gonna risk and........ask she if she could....if is OK to her..........if is not molest.........give me the Diamon....... and......Suprise.........she recapacite and give me the diamon whit a soft smile XD, she is good.................but looks like she put a kind of spell in the Diamon................and when I touch it................I vanish to the moon whit the Diamon!!!!!!! TTTROLLESTIAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! i Scream XD and I trow the diamon in a moon crater whit frustation XD

I invade your spaceship and make off with the diamond, but only after I spill whatever you were drinking down your shirt. Just being thorough. I then take the diamond and......get teleported back to the moon...... Sitting down, I start thinking of a way to remove the *TO THA MOOOOOOONNNN-AH!* spell on the Diamond.
While you do that, I replace it with an inconspicuously similar zircon. I then Eat the moon, nullifying the spell. I then regurgitate the moon. I give the diamond to the Old Spice Guy. Your Diamond is now DIAMONDS!
I wait for you to fall asleep then make off with the armor in the night! I keep the real diamond, the others were fake, and send it TO THE MOON!
I use my awesome flying pie to fly to the moon and i take the diamond and hide it in the parallel world beyond the mirror.
I have Pinkie Pie break the 4th wall and get the diamond. I convince her that it's candy and she eats it.

I remember this Thread! I use reflection and meta coding to invoke the Diamond's setVisible(boolean) method with a parameter of false. I then hide the Diamond within a new Container(Object) and then hide that Container within it self. Then I hide in the Container Object, with the diamond.
