Shield sighed. "Well, that makes it 3 out of 5. Rex, are you willing to go to the eye scanner yourself, or...?" He stopped his sentence there. He just really hoped Rex would be agreeable, even if if was hoping against hope, as if he was the spy he would NOT be agreeable at all. But Shield really didn't want to have to force him along; he would feel like an executioner no matter what Rex's allegiance. (I'm a ninja )
*smiles shrugging slighty and gives a bow* "ah but of course. I knew the consiquences of my actions full well when I begin. It didn't go as I had planned. The spy is a smart one... or a fool who knows to keep his mouth closed either way I didn't get the 'slip-up' I was hoping for. Although perhaps they did say something incriminating and can be used as evidence later. *makes his way to the eye scanner* "I shall now prove my innosence. I'm okay with this all i'm doing is hurting with the investigation perhaps now this mystery can be solved... Good luck Shieldy haha." ... ... *uses the eye scanner*
Below where Aima stood, a little steel flap opened. For a second, nothing happened. Then suddenly, a boxing mitt sprung out, striking the side of her face with unbelievable power, sending her flying backwards. "You were mistaken, Aima. Rex was completely innocent. He knows as much of who the spy is as yourself, and is not he who is betraying you. Because of your mistake, a life has been wasted, an innocent pony has been suspected, and the real culprit is further away from being caught. As a result, you receive teh pain. You have but one life left. Use it wisely- The next punishment may be more severe..." The voice cut out. The flaps disappeared and the exit remained unknown. The ponies had one last chance to find the spy and escape.
"What now Comrades if Rex wasn't the spy then who is because none of us want what just happened to Aima correct?"
"so wait... nothing happins to me? but I was the accused, I am confused." "...ahh!" He quickly rushes to Aima's side, and speaks softly. "oh my are you okay? say something please"
Shield accompanied Rex in going to Aima's side. "Aima?" he said, leaning over her. "Are you all right?" He made sure not to look at Rex; he felt terribly ashamed of his previous accusations.
"OK! This is officially getting really, rather stupid!" Teddy said, raising his flank and trotting back and forth. "We've got someone trying to toy with us, and I really do mean 'toy' with us. It's just sick! Sicker than I thought! I thought we'd lose Cal, not get robo-mare a black-eye!"
Shield was about to point out that at least they knew Rex was innocent, but decided that it would be stating the obvious. "We have one less suspect, at least, and wasn't Aima willing to 'sacrifice' herself to that end? This is basically the same thing, except she wasn't expecting it." He nudged Aima again, hoping that she would wake up. "So. What is our next course of action? Let us not waste this slight bit of knowledge that has been granted to us."
"It's not real useful as some odd questions have been raised, Shieldy... Why Aima? Was it because we weren't expecting it? It feels like the truth is so far away." ... (It's time for me to be serious the first time in my life) "I will help you shieldy any way I can just tell me what to do"
Shield's face showed surprise for a fraction of a second, the equivalent of being floored for somepony else. Rex is vouching for me?! He couldn't believe...after that whole thing...wow. Just wow. Shield didn't know whether to smack rex for being so idiotically loyal or hug him for being so idiotically loyal. Hmm. Probably neither. "Well...to be honest...I don't really know myself. What does everypony else think?" asked Shield, to take the focus off of himself whilst he regained composure.
Aima groaned in a pitiful state on the floor. Moments ago a boxing glove literally sprung up out of the floor and clocked her just under the chin sending her, her head, and her consciousness flying in separate directions. Her back slammed slammed into the wall and the light faded from her mind for a moment as an ominous 'snap' echoed through the crowded cell in conjunction to the 'bang' of her hitting said wall. Just as the boxing glove appeared, however, a single thought echoed through the mare's mind. 'Oh for fu-' A touch of physical contact brought her from the depths of her mind, and voices became clear as she awoke. She opened her eyes and it was immediately apparent that something was off. Her cybernetic eye had gone out. She remained motionless for a moment, but it wasn't long before something inside of her moved around. Her eye rolled out of it's socket and onto the floor. Apparently when the boxing glove went her against the wall, it tore the fragile cables that connects the ocular implant to the nerves behind her eye making it loose. She watched in confusion as it rolled silently across the floor. It took a moment to register, but as it did her hooves shot to her mouth to keep herself quiet as she gasped in horror. 'No, No, No, NO! They can't see me like this, no, not again...'
Shield noticed Aima moving. Well, that gave him something else to focus on. "Aima! I'm glad you're okay!" She kept her head down, with no response. "Aima?"
Teddy watches the small, white ball roll in a circumference around it's multi-coloured tail. It took a few seconds to actually register what had just fallen out of Aima's head. And that it had, indeed, fallen out of Aima's head. "Is...Is that what I think it is?" He points a hoof at the object. His suspicions are confirmed by the dark hole in the unicorns face. "By Celestia, they're taking eyes now? This needs to stop!"
"Are you okay?" *sits in front of Aima blocking the view to keep the others from staring* "Do you need some help?"
Aima cuffed a hoof over her hollow eye socket and pushed herself across the cell floor with her remaining limbs until she touched the wall. Her organic eye darted left and right; across the faces of the people in the cell. The room seemingly darkened around her as they began to take notice and slightly approached. She began to to see things in the corners of her vision and squeezed her eyelids tight closely. It was happening all over again, just as it had before. She heard whispers all around her, taunting her, teasing her. It was torture. She cracked her eyelids slightly, they were hallucinations, they were just voices, of course... Right? The room around her was dark, something in front of her was blocking the light. Looking up, she saw a pony standing in front of her. She squinted to make out it's face. It was a coming into focus slowly, but gradually. Aima's eye shot open and her pupil shrunk down to the size of a pea. "NO! KEEP AWAY! I'll not have you around anymore! You're in the past, a figment, AWAY WITH YOU!" She curled into the fetal position. The pony she spoke of was obviously not Rex, so who had she been referring to? She began to whimper quietly as she attempted to convince herself of reality, but her mind refused to take
Shield walked over to Aima and smacked her a good one on the cheek. Not intended to do damage; intended to shock her into the real world. "Aima! Get ahold of yourself!" As he did this, he looked at his actions through a third person perspective. Wait...did he just do that? He had. Had he changed that much? When he first arrived, he would never have even thought to do such a thing. In any case, his actions were justified. Shield felt that talking to her wasn't going to do much good until she was brought out of her little fantasy world.
