I love Queen Chrysalis, but its still no Contest, Discord is basically the MLP equivalent to the Devil. The guy has the power to alter/manipulate not only ponies hearts, but reality as well. Yeah, Discord would have Chrysalis beat in 10 seconds flat.
Discord is way more powerful, but I still have that feeling like he wanted to lose eventually. He easily had the power to remain in control forever if he wanted to.
Agreed. I imagine that He must get bored having all that power. It was clear from the start the whole thing was a game to him. Poor guy, just wants a good opponent, lol. And I guess he kind of got one in Twilight. Hopefully he'll be back in season 3 for more chaos.
Chrysalis' design was defeintly much more terrifying then Discord's, but in reality he would easy top her. She was more a beast in just forcefully going after what she and her changlings needed to survive. They was no really complex thought behind her plan, as she got so easily beat by a simple changing of tables. Somewhat, but not really. The Devil wants to lead hell into war against heaven, and enjoys complete annilation, cruelty. He would have no mercy or time for silly games. Discord is more of a demon-can manipulate like a boss- but itsn't as cruel.
True, thats why I said the MLP equivalent, he's basically a kid-friendly version of the Devil...if that makes any sense. Yes in modern media even the prince of darkness can be OK for the kiddies. (note: I hope that doesn't offend anyone, i'm christian myself if that helps so not trying to insult at all, just have a cracked sense of humor, lol.) But yeah back on Topic. Out of the main villains. NMM basically really never felt much like a villain to me, I mean we hear her origins in the opening of the episode, and while she does have an awesome villianess design, I've always seen NMM/Luna as more of the Loki of MLP, not really evil but just jealous that her sister got all the love she though she deserved or what not. Then Discord as said is basically just a Demon who likes to troll. And Finally Chrysalis is the best villain from a strategy perspective, she wasn't doing what she did out of vengeance or "because chaos" lol she was infiltrating a Kingdom to lead an invasion to give her people a new food supply. So really I guess from a intelligence perspective Chrysalis is the best villain. But from just a being the most BA/FUN Discord wins. But yeah I really look forward to seeing what Baddies future seasons/episodes of the show will bring.
Well, intelligent in some ways. Other ways...she was really stupid. Here are some things that made me facepalm with her: "I captured the only pony who knows something's up with me. Well, why not tell her everything about me while I'm at it?" "Oh no, ONE pony is accusing me of being an imposter, and it's the pony I'm impersonating. Better shed my disguise in front of everyone now. I don't feel like turning it on her and claiming she's the imposter or anything." "Shining Armor's love has made me even stronger than Celestia! What? You're going to defeat me with the power of love? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard."
Discord. Cotton clouds and Chocolate rain. Dont know about Chrysalis yet, havent watched that episode yet. (noooo!)
Discord and Nightmare Moon were both cool villains, but I like Chrysalis the most. Why? First, I liked her story the best. Each of these villains had a two-part episode at either the beginning or end of a season, so we got to see their characters in a whole lot of depth. With Discord and NMM, the Mane Six saved Equestria from either darkness or chaos, whereas in Chrysalis' two-part episode, the Mane Six attempted (and failed, at least directly) to save Equestria from an army of changlings, which, while not necessarily more threatening that a corrupted goddess or a spirit of chaos, would have fed off of all the love in Equestria. That's pretty dark. If love is the sum of all that is good, then feeding off of love (and thereby taking it away) would have leeched Equestria dry of all happiness and harmony. I think the insinuation is that, had the changelings suceeded, eventually they would have sucked Equestria dry of all love and feeling, leaving behind a broken husk. Where NMM and Discord would have made ponies miserable, Chrysalis would have probably taken away all emotion. That Chrysalis attempted to single-handedly infiltrate Canterlot, defeat the tuling Monarch, and break the city's protective shell so her minions could sweep through the city with the intention of sucking it dry of all compassion is pretty cool and certainly impressive. TL;DR: Chrysalis is my favorite villain, mostly due to the tone of the episode(s) she appears in, but also because she has great malice and darkness within her character. P.S. The fact that she was defeated by two side characters through the power of love, a magic that hadn't truly been delved into before those episodes, was a nice touch as well.

I love both characters. but I must agree that Discord´s plain to conquer Equestria was much better than Chrysail´s plain.
