"Large intestine, stomach, liver, y'know, basically the things that you found, considering we're looking at the same frog."
"I'm surprised you even managed that," Poppy muttered dryly before returning to her diagram. "Could you find the ovaries or the testes, please? We're supposed to find the sex of the frog."
He picked up the probing tool again and began searching. He didn't really mind her annoyance with him, and just sighed at her response. After a moment raised an eyebrow. "Ovaries."
"Cool," she said, writing down the information carefully. "The next instruction is to cut the skin of the frog off and put it on your face and record the results. Apparently, it's supposed to make your skin feel smoother?"
"I do care about grades," she agreed. "But... Oh! Would you look at that! In the instructions it says 'Francis Craw specifically needs to put frog skin on his face.' Crazy, right?"
"Mhm. Can we just continue the assignment? You're costing us time here, Abernathy." He crossed his arms, setting his pen down.
"That was the last question," she said, glancing down at her worksheet. "The frog skin thing is just extra credit."
"I think we're just supposed to turn it in at the end of class.." The bell rang loudly, and Poppy blinked. "I guess that's right now."
"Bye," Poppy said, placing her notebook in her bag. She placed the worksheet on the teacher's desk, and when she stepped outside, her gaze was caught by the tall, muscular boy waiting for her. "Hey Ev," Poppy said, walking over to him. He kissed her quickly and grinned at her. "Hey. Here, let me take that." He took her bag, slung it over his shoulder, and took her hand.
Evan squinted at Francis' back. "Was that that Craw kid?" he asked, looking down at her. "Hm? Oh, yeah. We're lab partners." "Hate that guy," Evan muttered before clearing his throat. "Anyway, ready to go to lunch?" Poppy smiled. "Yeah. Let's go."
