Poppy entered science class the next day a little wary. She sat down at her normal spot, and prepared an apology in her head for Francis.
She cleared her throat before speaking. "Hey," she said quietly. "I'm really sorry about yesterday. I didn't think he'd figure out where you lived. "
"He was just going to get into a fight," she said, pulling out her supplies. "I figured that it was just better to end it preemptively."
She shifted uncomfortably. "I mean, the fact that I'm even partners with you despite the fact that he doesn't like it is manipulative," she said quietly.
"He's just..." Poppy trailed off before clearing her throat and shaking her head. "Don't worry. It's fine."
She pulled out a neatly typed report, sliding it across the table to him. "I finished it last night," she said. "You can read it over for edits, if you'd like."
