At the end of the day, the bell rang loudly, and students streamed out of the school chattering wildly, excited to be returning home for the day.
Evan watched him with dark eyes as he departed from the school. Quietly, he slung his bag over his shoulder and followed.
Francis stumbled back, not making much noice other than a gasp of surprise. He found his nose was bleeding already, and looked back at Evan, unsure what to do."
Evan advanced forward, his face dark with anger. "You shouldn't have gotten involved. Everything that has happened between Poppy and I is all because of you."
Francis shook his head, but hesitated with his words. "I-It's not my fault," he said. " It's not my fault."
"It is," he said. "Everything you've seen, everything you've heard, that's all because of you. You should have just left us alone. Then we'd all be happy."
"You don't hit her because of me," he stated, his voice a bit quieter than before, but after a moment he stepped closer, his voice raising a bit. "You don't deserve her. You don't deserve anyone."
Evan's face was tight with anger, and his hand closed into a fist. "You really want to fight me on this, Craw?"
Evan stepped forward, and an unsettling smirk crossed his face. "You know you're going to lose, right?"
