"They might," she said. "But you didn't move on. You also helped me with my issues, and you delivered my homework to my house without me asking. That seems like something a friend would do."
"You're a jock," she said easily. She fell backwards and hung from her legs on the branch, coming face to face with him, her hair hanging below her. She gave him a grin and shrugged. "Jocks can't be friends with nerds."
"I was able to scale a tree with three broken fingers faster than you were able to with fully functioning limbs," she said wryly.
"Excuses, excuses," she replied, attempting to pull her hair back into a bun while upside down and mostly failing. "You just can't admit that I beat you."
