Class Dismissed (One-on-One)

"Thank you," she said, writing out the procedure. "We could start trials over the next couple days."

 

"Yeah," she said. "I would say twenty to be safe. The trials shouldn't be longer than five minutes each."

 

"Come on, Craw," she said, her grey eyes meeting his. "Be brave."

 

"Was partnering with me a big risk?" she asked playfully.

 

"Am I that scary?" she asked with a grin.

 

She blinked, obviously surprised, and then she raised one brow.

"Francis Craw," she began, "are you complimenting me?"

 

"No," she said with a shrug. "I guess I'm just surprised, that's all."

 

"A little," she said, shrugging. "I don't think you've ever complimented me before."

 

She blinked, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Oh. Thank you," she said quietly, evidently unsure how to handle the compliments.

 

"Accepting them is not."
