She cocked her head and eventually a slow smile spread across her face. "Hm. I guess it is." The bell rang for the lunch end, and she looked up before clearing her throat. "Ah. We should probably go."
She smiled lightly as he turned away, tugging on her fingers. His words rang through her head. "Well, I care about you." Francis would feel her hand take his arm. "Francis... wait."
She hesitated, her gaze meeting his, and her fingers grazing his wrist. She bit her lip, looking down at the ground once before moving forward and kissing him, her lips soft against his.
His eyes widened in surprise, and he stepped away. "I-I'll see you later," he stuttered, before hurrying away.
Poppy paused, alone in the room, and cursed herself. "Stupid, stupid, stupid! Gah. You idiot," she muttered, picking up her bag and hurrying to her next class.
He turned the corner, blushing slightly as he glanced back. Did he really just leave her back there? He groaned in frustration.
After school that day, Poppy was laying in her lawn on her stomach, reading a book. Her thoughts were whirling, but she tried to keep it from showing.
