"Maybe we shouldn't," she said as a small grin spread across her face. "Although, he might figure it out anyway."
A small look of concern crossed her features. "I don't think I can promise that..." she said quietly. "Maybe... maybe we should keep this quiet for now...?"
"Good," she said agreeably. "And, you know, chances are that I won't be at school for a while. So it'll be easier."
"Cool. And I'll type up the procedure and the variables..." Already, he would be able to see her mind slipping into science world. "And I'll also do the research..."
"Yes please," she said. "So that will only leave the conclusion and the data tables, which we obviously can't do yet..."
She laughed against his lips, distracted momentarily. "Hey..." she said gently when she pulled away. "You're sure about this?"
She looked up at him for a moment as if he were something precious, her head tilted slightly. Finally, she reached up and kissed him. "Okay," she murmured. "Thank you."
They stood there in silence for a long time before the front door opened, and the excited giggles of a five year old floated out to them.
