Drinking the rest of his second glass of Vodka, he listened to the conversation currently going on, then put the glass down. "My apologies, I don't believe I have given you all my name yet. It's Alex."
Ryh eyed Root curiously, feelibg a bit sorry for her and the particular bit of mania she was suffering from. Inwardly, he wondered if she found him appetizing, even if this human form was merely just a masque.
Deo asked Ryh, "You know, I am a bit curious about something. I know it isn't polite to ask about one's weight, but are you heavier than the average human in that form? And if not, where does the mass go?"
Alex, meanwhile, was just staring at the vodka, it was obvious he was lost in thought at that moment.
Ryh chuckled, thankful for more intelligent conversation, "It's sort of like a mirror trick," he said. "My weight is still quite the same, I am merely manipulating the light around me to allow me to appear human."
"That is interesting. My friend here can manipulate his form as well, as you likely noticed when he was," he looked over at Asmo, "misbehaving." He looked back at Ryh, "In observing his biology many years ago, I found that he always weighs the same, 455 kilograms, but his mass is either compressed or expanded depending on his form. You appear to work a bit differently, using creative illusions. Exactly how large are you when you're not disguised?"
"My height is part of the reason for the lofty ceiling," he said, pointing upwards, "my head could reach the fans on the ceiling."
"So, hypothetically speaking, someone else could bump into your dragon parts if they were to walk behind the counter?"
Alex finished his vodka, and nodded. "... I admit, that makes me curious too on how far the illusion goes. You said it was just a 'mirror trick' so I'm guessing your actual size doesn't change, it's just how we perceive it."
"You know, you should learn that. Maybe you could make yourself less pasty." Deo, fully aware that this was just Asmo's sense of humor and that he didn't mean any ill will, simply replied, "I prefer snow white to pasty. Anyways, I'm amazed at the things I have been finding here in this corner of the universe. Extraordinary to be sure."
"You would be surprised, we dragons maintain most of the guilds here, longevity tends to give one patience and insight regarding business matters."
"I find it gives me more time to learn what I can about the worlds around me. I am older than I look, you know. I've seen countless natural wonders, and some... not-so-natural wonders."
"Yeah, pretty lucky. I don't get to travel much... Just to a few places, Sanctuary, The Underworld.... Asgard..."
"Sometimes," said Deo, "you find the strangest things right at home. There are actually a few things I can tell you about without being terminated. We have a tree, somewhere on Earth, that is made entirely of human flesh, with multi-jointed arms, eyes in the palms, mouths in the roots, and a full digestive system. If something like that was just sitting around on Earth, I'm sure you two don't have to go far to find something new."
"... I did get to see a demon tree that fed on the lifeforce of those around it. It wasn't a good experience."
"A flesh tree eh?" he said, "strange, I have never heard of such a thing! I take it the tree is in a remote location?"
"Unfortunately, because it goes through a strange bloom, or as some call it, 'mating season,' it does have to be kept in a restricted courtyard. Such a unique beast though. We found it in the country France."
