Taylor shook her head in disbelief before raising her Magnum back at Damien. “You can’t be my brother. I grew up alone in Vault 101 on the East Coast, my mother suffered cardiac arrest and died when I was born. You can’t be my brother and nothing you can say can possibly say otherwise?” “What was her name?” Damien replied sharply and simply. “Catherine....” Taylor said, her eyes filling up with tears. “Catherine Bowman” “Catherine...” Damien paused. “Catherine Bowman, formerly known as Catherine Winters was a scientist for the NCR. She met my father not long after the Enclave was defeated in 2241 and fell in love. A few months after I was born, she vanished without saying a word. It’s only recently that I learnt who she was and in the process, learning about you.” Taylor was now in total denial. “What! How do you know so much about her?” “She was my mother, Taylor. A mother that I never knew.” Taylor couldn’t deny the facts, the man that claimed to be her brother knew plenty about her mother. While she wanted to believe the truth, she couldn’t believe everything that was being said. She lowered the Magnum until it fell out of her hands and landed on the floor, with the safety still on. By now, tears were streaming down her face. “If you are my mothers son, then who was your father?” Damien only smirked at the response.
Abbey: (returns from her sniping spot) Uhh... What is happening here? Will: Damien thinks that this person's his sister. Abbey: I see. Sandy: (to Taylor) I think he's gotcha mixed up here. (gives her something for her tears)
"Mixed up?" Damien responded before taking out a photo from one of his pockets to reveal an African American women standing next to another man in an armoured Vault suit with dark brown hair; in the baby's arms was a young newborn baby. Damien. "Is this enough proof?" Taylor instantly recognised the women in the photo to be her own mother. She had plenty of questions on her mind such as why the other man had a vault suit, but the biggest one was that why would her own mother escape from what seemed to be a perfectly normal life? She collapsed to the ground in tears and shock, Damien appeared emotionless. "You need further proof or are you satisfied?" Damien told her. Taylor wiped away her tears and shook her head. "No...that's enough." Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Damien helped his sister from the ground, holding her hand with a tight grip as he helped wipe away the tears. She stopped crying for a moment as she looked Damien in the eyes. There was a moment of study as Taylor looked at the older mans facial characteristics, there was no point denying it. Damien really was her brother. Taylor went for a hug this time, a quick but warm feeling between the two before they decided to split. Taylor now had a small smile on her face. "We are going to need to...catch up" Taylor told the group. The two of them were buzzing with questions, so they all headed uptowads the nearby Sniper Shack, sitting on a cliff face while they watched the sun set over the Colorado and the camp below them. While Damien and Taylor spent plenty of time with each other getting to know who they both were, Cottonwood Cove was transformed into an enormous fortress that the Legion failed to retake. Even if the Legion attacked in force, the casualty rate would be absolutely colossal. Even the NCR would find major difficulty's in capturing this location if they tried. A wall was construed right alongside the Colorado and a large guard tower was constructed on a hill inside of the valley facing towards the direction of the Colorado. This was one of several changes that came with Cottonwood Cove, the entire camp resembling a fully fledged military base. Within a week, Cottonwood Cove was cleaned up and was completely reborn. The Vets newest headquarters now held a powerful location in the fragile balance of power in the Mojave.
Uhh... okay. a little more time lapsed than I was expecting, but I can work to that c: Damien was inside the camp when he was approached by Jenny. Jenny: Hey Damien, come over here. I got an idea to share with ya!
Jenny: I've had an idea for a kind of shotgun ammunition that might give someone short on materials a chance. It's an improvement on a popular kind of improvised ammo that people make out of caps or legion money.
"A shotgun shell that fires Legion denarii or caps. That doesn't sound like a bad idea." Damien replied before wondering about the idea. "Just a question, how many caps or coins do you think would be per shell?"
Jenny: about 5 or 6 for caps if you intend to break them into something like traditional shot, but that's not what I was thinking. Looking at the shape of caps and the density and size of legion currency, I figured that maybe if I could combine the two it'd make for a far more lethal ammo type
"Combing two forms of ammo to ensure dominance in a weight ratio advantage with minimal resources. I think this idea might be a winner, you really are a clever one Jenny." Damien said, happily remarking at the end. Damien learnt just about everything from Taylor, knowing that she was born in a place she said was called 'Rivet City' and raised in a Vault before leaving her old life behind to find her father and eventually finding herself as the saviour of the wasteland. She was a saint who tried to make her world a better place, and the very definition of a bookworm who's astonishingly high intelligence and pretty appearance made her adorkable at times. Then, there was Damien. Literally trained at birth in superhuman conditions to become the greatest warrior of the entire 23rd century by his father, a living legend known as "The Chosen One", Damien fought his own war to make his world a better place until an unfortunate occurrence happened which resulted with him declaring war against the Legion, and winning. While not as smart as his sister, Damien had an IQ of 145 and was fluent in Latin. What stood Damien apart was that he was physically borderline on superhuman and peak human condition and was lightyears ahead of Taylor in combat skill in experience. Damien's handsome appearance also made him very charismatic. Taylor was also the only one that knew about Damien's hidden story, the one that he doesn't like telling, the reason he declared war against the Legion. Whatever the brother and sister had in common or how different they were in their lives, they still loved each other. Jenny: thanks! The secret is to cut the edges of the legion money so that it looks like a bottle cap. Kinda like the serrations on a combat knife. Combine that with the extra weight of the money, it's abundance and the high velocity, it'll make easier work of legion armor.
"Well, considering that Legion armour is made out of Football pads, then I'm sure that this will get the job done. Not sure about your standard armour however, such as the stuff the NCR wears. Then you have Power Armour and that's a different story entirely." Damien said. "Anyway, all organic targets would be greatly affected by this weapon."
Will: not a lot dude. That's why I was thinking about going out on another adventure. Jenny: Hmm maybe take a trip to Vegas? :3 Will: Sure. (to damien) Would you and taylor care to join us? c:
