"One sec" Damien replied before holding two fingers to his throat and mimicked a bird whistle to a surprisingly realistic quality. Taylor shot up and instantly went over to Damien. Damien had just used a whistle he used during his time with the Mockingbirds, in which all of the operatives could mimic the call. It became notorious during the Siege of Sac-Town in 2265, where the entire squad and 1,000 NCR soldiers and civilians held out the ruins of Sacramento for ten days against a unified slaver and raider force of over 20,000 before NCR reinforcements arrived. It was also where Damien used his black bladed machete for the first time and killed the slaver/raider leader Nathanael Cross. "What's up?" Taylor asked "We're leaving to Vegas. Wanna come?" "Alright, it's about time I got to sight-see your home. Count me in."
Will: Fantastic! I'll tell Abbey and John what the plan is, then we can go on another epic adventure (have you seen the game 5 nights at freddy's?)
(Yeah, it's terrifying. Should we make another time-skip and place the characters somewhere in the Mojave?)
(Awesome! The reason I asked is because I was thinking about taking our characters to an abandoned Freddy Fazbears' pizzaria. I know it's not canon or anything but I think it'd be fun. :3 )
And with that, the crew assembled and set off for their epic adventure across the mojave. They had no interest in going anywhere in particular, instead choosing to go where their curiosity and free spirits lead them. It was getting late in the day, the crew had been on their feet for most of it and were now looking for a place to rest. Jenny: (looks off into the distance to see a building) hey guys! What about this place?
The building appeared on the horizon, and warning bells instantly shot upwards from Damien. "I'd rather keep walking" "We've been walking for hours, I think we might need a rest." Taylor replied. "I dunno. I'm getting a vibe about this place that feels unnatural, maybe we can rest in the next building we find." Damien replied back, flipping his aviators off for a second to show his milky blue eyes. "I've lived here for almost six years, that place is supposed to be haunted." "Only one way to find out...." Taylor replied, jokingly skipping towards the building as Damien facepalmed himself and laughed. "Of course, Taylor. Hard to keep the explorer side of you down, isn't it...." He said quietly before looking at the others. "Wanna take this chance?"
On the way to the building, Damien noticed that Taylor was trying to open the door which seemed to be locked. She'd tried to lockpick the door, but she was unfortunately having difficulty. Once the others were close enough, they tried to watch her open the door and fail without any help. The Lone Wanderer got frustrated before Damien walked towards the door and suddenly kicked the handle as hard as he could, knocking the door down and sending it flying across the main corridor of the building itself. It was extremely dark inside, the building likely hasn't seen light for over two hundred years. He backed away from the now empty hole in the wall that used to resemble a door and looked at Jenny, humorously gesturing towards the door. "Ladies first...."
Damien walked into the room, Blood-Nap at the ready while Taylor used the light of her Pipboy as a source of light while they explored the dark room. After making a sharp turn right, they found themselves in a dark room filled with monitors while two enormous steel doors were wide open. Eventually, Taylor found a power source through the use of a light switch as the whole room powered into life. A series of five holotapes appeared set in line on the table, Damien placed the first one onto the table as it began to play. Date of recording. 23rd July 2007 Start Recording: "Hello? Oh, Hello! Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm finishing up my last week now as a matter of fact. So I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you: there's nothing to worry about. Uh, you'll do fine, so let's just focus on getting you through your first week, okay? Uh, let's see... First there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read, eh, it's kind of a legal thing. You know. Um... Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing persons report will be filed within 90 days or as soon as property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced- Blah, blah, blah. Now that might sound bad, I know, but there's really nothing to worry about.Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No! If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for 20 years, and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too." "Wait....animatronics?" Damien said suspiciously. "So remember: these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children, and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.So just be aware; the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they're left in some kind of "free-roaming" mode at night, uhh, something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uhh, they used to be able to walk around during the day, too, but then there was "the Bite of '87." Yeah. It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?" "Oh boy....." Taylor announced to the group. "Uh, now concerning your safety: the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours, probably won't recognize you as a person. They'll - They'll most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now, since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza they'll probably try to uh... forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit." “Wait....WHAT?” Taylor said loudly, panic now appearing on her face. "Um, now that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with cross-beams, wiring, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area, so you can imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of... discomfort... and death... Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth that would pop out the front of the mask. Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey; first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow, uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power." Alright. Good night." End of recording: The whole room went silent afterwards before Damien broke the silence. "This place is almost 300 years old. No wonder this entire place was shut down, and then avoided like it was radioactive during and after the war. This has now confirmed what I've been thinking, it's haunted."
Abbey: seriously? This is just probably a prank holotape made to scare some punk kid before the war. Jenny: (laughs) You're funny Damien XD Will: yeah I mean really? A haunted pizzaria? Where'd you come to that conclusion?
Just as soon as Will stopped speaking, the lights went completely black. The lights flickered in the hallway and just before anyone could speak, one of the animatronic animals suddenly appeared in a different room. Damien held the grip of Blood-Nap tighter around his belt while the others kinda freaked out. "You were saying?" Damien replied
Will: (turns on the light on his helmet) no worries. probably a blown fuse or dodgey contact. I'll go fix it Abbey: I'll go with you. If there's robots here then they'll have cells to scavenge off them. Jenny: and scrap c: John: there's probably food here too. Will: looks like we've got stuff to do then. (oh, does Taylor or damien have the wild wasteland trait?)
(Neither of them both have it. I'm based them around the perks and traits of their own representative games. Damien gets FNV perks while Taylor gets FO3 perks.) Upon further study of the room, Damien discovered that everything was running from a generator located in the room which seemed to power just about anything. While Damien could take down these "robot's" blindfolded and with one hand, he wasn't taking any chances to endanger the lives for the rest of his companions. He took out Blood-Nap fully and twirled it around his fingers for a moment before looking at the others. "I'm going with a 'Shoot first, questions later' motive. Anything with glowing eyes, just shoot." Damien replied before looking at his knife. "I don't need a gun for this." Taylor took her Plasma Rifle and nodded in response. These were 300 year old robots after all that were likely possessed by murderous human spirits, they couldn't be that difficult to destroy.
Will: whatever. I'm pretty sure the robots are ceased up anyway. Jenny: I dunno will, even though this place looks like a dump, things seem relatively well preserved. It's just there's a lot of junk lying around. Abbey: So you're saying the robots may be working. I shouldn't be surprised i guess. Will: maybe we should be in pairs then, just to be on the safe side. John: I call dibbs on Damien.
Damien took his knife and rested himself against the frame of the open door, with Blood-Nap facing downwards for good measure as he poked his head out. There was defiantly life occurring, he had a feeling that something was happening in the hallway. He then took a small sphere from his belt and rolled it down the hallway like a ball. The sphere continued downwards until it suddenly stopped when it detected motion and suddenly, a small antenna appeared out of nowhere from the ball. What happened next was not the prettiest, Damien having to look the other way otherwise he would have risked going blind as an incredibly bright light swallowed the darkness whole. Not long later, a mechanical "SQUEEEE!" was sounded as the light soon faded away to reveal a a female yellow chicken animatronic wearing a bib that said "Let's eat!" It's sensors would have been greatly damaged from the bright light, giving Damien a chance to strike. Damien suddenly ran outwards from the door at full speed before throwing Blood-Nap with immense power towards the murderous robot, spinning around as it made a whistle in the air before brutally slamming into the forehead of the mechanical creation. Had it been organic, it would have killed them instantly, the sheer power of the impact would have broken it's neck. Still, it wasn't enough. Chica weakly looked upwards as it tried to roar again, only to find Damien jumping into the air and promptly drop kicking the chicken in the head, directly where the Bowie knife was located. Blood_Nap went straight through the head of the animatronic, dropping the animatronic to the ground like a ton of rocks and killing it instantly. Damien recovered from the attack by flipping backwards to maintain his momentum from the attack before getting into a stance. He looked back at the room. "One down!"
Jenny: (starts scavving Chica's remains) Abbey: well all sense of vulnerability has just gone out of the window. Will: was there any vulnerability to start with? Jenny: oh well, this thing has plenty of scrap metal we can use. John: it'll help make some fine weapon repair kits that's for sure
The man held Blood-Nap in his hands before suddenly feeling the lights go dim again and a the hairs standing on the back of his neck. "We've got three more." Damien called out.
