"Oh! Why yes, Herr Vogelscheuche is with me at the moment. I'll just go fetch him for you" Rene replied to the girl, his voice like caramel and sweet before looking over to the giant man on the other side of the room. "We have a visitor, she wants to see you personally." Rene replied turned around towards Adrian
The man put his mask back on before showing himself in the dim light emanating from the windows of the apartment. The giant gestured for her to come inside, which she did. The girl spoke, looking at Rene. "You must be Herr Schneider. I've heard quite a bit about you." She placed a newspaper on the table. A silent pause. "My name is Nadja. Blume. I live in these apartments with my father. I visit Adrian quite a bit. Bring him tea and other things." The giant gestures that she could sit down, which she did. A frying pan sizzled on the stove, with a fair amount of lamb chops in it, covered with an assortment of spices that the man had in his cupboards. "So have you two known each other for some time?"
"We have known each other for a while, yes. I've been in the SS for several years and I met Adrian during a mission about....5, maybe 6 years ago." Rene replied before sitting back down at the table
The huge man waved his hand in the air. She also happens to play a hauntingly beautiful cello. She's going to go to the concert with me when it comes. Speaking of which, the concert is in Munich. Gasteig. You know, the concert hall next to Burgerbraukeller, the beer hall putsch place? Lovely structure. Nadja and I even plan playing at the Beethovenhalle on the sixteenth of December. Beethoven's birthday, you know?
"Ah yes, I've heard about the concert that is occurring there. I didn't hear much about the specific details of the concert however, but I hope that you and our guest here can both deliver a fantastic performance." Rene said nicely before taking a sip of his wine then swishing it gently. "I've been very busy within the past few months or so. It's quite relaxing to finally take time off work to build up on plans for the future." Rene questioned. "I'll speak to you about them much later Adrian, it's quite extensive."
(Okie dokie) Rene was inside of his small home on the outskirts of Berlin, washing his face to wake himself up. He was shirtless and with his blonde hair being unorganized, was not yet ready to look presentable. He lived alone but was married to his job. He placed his SS uniform and trench coat on, locked the door behind him and headed into the city.
The giant was never alone. A German-shepherd stood by his side, a fairly large canine. She was Katy, one of Adrian's closest friends. The people in the market-places of central Berlin, had grown accustom, though still sometimes curious of the dog and her strange master. He was in a black suit, tie, and overcoat along with a white dress shirt, and a black, wide-brimmed fedora. Each of his gloved hands carried large, brown-paper bags, filled with groceries of different sorts. The sky was still grey, but there was no rain...
After the grey clouds in the sky managed to set the tone for what the handsome SS officer would believe 'fitting' to another day at work, Rene drove to the Reich Chancellery and got out of his car. Walking towards the building, he was soon surrounded by two elite SS bodyguards as all eyes seemed to turn onto him. Once he was inside, Rene was approached by Himmler as Rene saluted before the two of them shook hands. "Rene, glad you could make it. We have important to discuss." Himmler asked Rene as the two of them walked alongside another. "What we both need to speak about would be better if it were to be spoken in private, so may I ask for your guards to be left at the door if it would be polite to do so?" "Of course, Reichsführer" Rene replied as he made a gesture with his hands to the guards, who instantly backed away from the two officers and stood at the door, one of them opening it for the two men as they both went inside.
Adrian was back in his apartment. In a short time, he would be leaving to Austria to join in the parade welcoming the annexing of the other country. The giant dressed up, his sleek black uniform well fitting onto his massive frame, and tucked his cap onto his head. A deep, low sounding exhale escaped from under his mask, as he looked into the shattered, dirty mirror for a brief moment. Outside, he found himself inside his car, a black Mercedes-Benz 770 convertible. Katy at his side in he passenger seat, he drove southwards, towards the border...
"And that is why you will be heading into Austria for a continued line of work." Himmler concluded the details of the mission before giving Rene a large smile. "But not without reward however. For your actions in the German Reich and service to our party, I officially promote you, Rene Bastian Schneider, to the rank of Oberführer of the Waffen-SS. Upon arriving in Vienna, the Führer will personally be expecting your arrival. He not only wishes to meet you, but possibly wants so much more from you. You are dismissed" Rene had the largest grin on his face, as if he received the present he wanted for Christmas as a child. Not only was Rene proud about what he had done, but Rene couldn't help but feel the electricity in the air from the room. He rose to his feet and saluted Himmler before leaving the building and taking a plane to Vienna
Adrian was waiting at the airport, once again, Katy at his side, waiting for his friend. He had already beaten him there, in Vienna, Austria, the birthplace of one of his favorite musicians: Bach. But the giant was here for business, not music. His sleek, black uniform, almost exactly the same... except for the two oak-leaves on the collar rank patch. Rene Schneider was not the only one who had received a promotion, but it was no miracle that the two grew in rank parallel to each other, being so alike in so many ways. The new Oberfuhrer had received a promotion not too long before he had left to Vienna, and caught the news his good friend would be joining him. It seemed that the two were almost inseparable, standing together for the good of their cause. Unbeknownst to Rene, he was about to meet Nadja Blume again, who was in the Austrian airport to join in all the activity that was about to be stirred. She was wearing a white dress, bright like ivory, accenting her pearl-coloured skin, her hair now in a pony-tail, tied in a bow. A lidded, paper-cup of hot chocolate was held by her in both hands, sipping the warm fluid. The silver atmosphere above was turning ever darker, and it would be raining again soon.
Upon arriving at Vienna and now as an Oberfuhrer, Rene took his first steps from the plane and was instantly surrounded by his bodyguards. The sky was grey and it also seemed that it was windier than he expected, the cold breeze blowing his coat. Despite that he felt that it was going to rain soon, the weather never bothered Rene.
The larger man looked at Rene from the crowd, but it was likely that Rene would easily see him, Adrian towering over the rest of the crowd. He waved his hand in greeting, the dark lenses of his mask reflecting the rest of the crowd like little mirrors. He tapped on his collar, showing Rene his own recent promotion, and inside, Adrian was smiling. Nadja was going through the crowd, trying to get to the exit without spilling her hot drink. She had seen quite a few SS personnel, and in her mind she wondered if she would meet her two friends again...
"Oh! Adrian, you've been promoted as well? Congratulations my friend!" Rene said with a smile. "It looks like we're the same rank. Funny how fate is so generous to smile upon us. Everywhere we go, we find each other and nothing but good comes out of our work. It seems that we are kindled spirits"
The giant waved his hands in the air, as the two walked towards the exit. It does seem so. It seems that fate has decided that we are- Suddenly, they crashed into the hurrying girl. The hot cup was knocked out of her hands, the liquid in air, but suddenly, the cup was caught by the large man, who was able to scoop up the rest of the liquid mid-air. Handing it back to Nadja, he waved his hands again, turning his head towards Rene. ...to share our times. It also seems that there might be a third that fate has decided to mix in... Nadja looked at the two, completely shocked and a bit stunned. She came to her senses after a brief pause, and took the cup. "Adrian.... Rene! It's very good to see you two! I didn't think I'd see either of you until the parade!"
"Neither did we." Rene responded back to Nadja, helping her up from the ground. "Looks like our reunion got organized earlier than what we expected, but we are all here together now."
The larger man gestured. My care is waiting outside. I think a fourth person shall be joining us soon. He's primarily here to drive the car in the parade, but I think there'll be a bit more than just driving. His name is Sebastian, a recent friend of mine. He was there at the meeting between the Fuhrer and the Austrian chancellor. Somewhat short lad, stocky and whatnot. Looks a bit like Herr Goring. He just looks a little younger, and a bit plumper. Oh, you'll meet the chap soon. Katy was being petted by Nadja, but sniffed Rene and barked in delight.
Rene went downwards for a moment and petted Katy as the dog panted in delight before him. He then rose to his feet to face Adrian and Nadja. "The parade is supposed to occur within a few hours, and from what I was told, we are fairly close behind the car of the Fuhrer. It's quite exciting, especially since Himmler informed me about the Fuhrer wishing to speak to me directly after the parade."
What about? The giant asked. The plump man with combed, dark blonde hair had arrived to the airport via cab, his black uniform well suited to blending in with the people he would be with... after all, they were all SS officials. He quickly left the cab, en route to the airport entrance to meet up with the three men he was supposed to meet here. He was quickly met by a rather thin, young man. "Otto." The thinner man greeted. "Sebastian, my friend," Otto greeted back, his plump, rosy cheeks perking in a smile. "Good to see you!" "It appears that Adrian and Rene have arrived..." Sebastian remarked. "...Did you see the plane?" "No, afraid not." "Ah, well, they should be here soon." Sebastian also wore a black uniform, being he was in the Totenkopfverbande, Otto being from the Gestapo. Soon will come the meeting of people four corners of the same room. Sebastian thought. One from the secret police. One from the death camps. One from the Waffen. And one from the Allgemeine. How interesting that as we are all friends, we find ourselves in such an interesting situation...
