Star grabbed Silver with and looked him in the eyes. "U now whar Da Starz?! I LOST!!! GWAH!!!!" Her body was shaking as she held Silver in front of her.
SonicBeat tiltedher head at the filly, wondering what special ment. "Special good... Or special bad? It seems more then one of us are..." She paused, thinking of the word. "Well, crazy, or hyperactive..." She shook her head slightly, messy curls falling around her face, one stray hair right in front of her eye. Blowing it away, she flapped her wings and lifted into the air, on a cloud, the same cloud she had been riding the whole time. She never really flew, just when she was making clouds, or gathering things in the air. (If you haven't notice, most of the time her... 'problem' lies dormant... Unless theres big crowds)
Cherry followed slowly after Silver Shield. What's that filly yammering on about? She misses her friends, the Stars! I would miss you guys if you went away... That's stupid. Stars can't talk. I'd miss you too, Straberry Cream. Aww... Thanks, Jelly Jam! D'aww... Ishn't dat shweet? Stop it, Mango. None of us is going anywhere, Strawberry and Jelly. FRIENDS FOREVER! You're kidding, right? You're actually giving into this lovefest? Sounds like somepony needs a hug, heh. I know who you'd like a hug from, Limey... Lemon Lime blushed slightly. She was getting closer to Shield and Star Trender. After composing herself and straightening her mane, she spoke: "Is there anything we can do?" She seemed unfazed by the display before her, with Trender shaking Silver's head back and forth. After all, she's had to live with Strawberry Cream...
Silver recoiled a bit, out of Star's grasp, then brushed himself off and looked back at Star again. "Um...you want to see the stars?? I'm sorry, I can't really help you there. You could ask to go outside, though. Personally, I prefer the indoors." He looked at Cherry (He couldn't really tell which one of her personalities was in control) as she approached. "Oh, hello agoin." He smiled (or rather, his frown decreased in intensity), and continued. "I was just informing this filly here that in order to view the stars, you have to be outdoors, at night." His frown returned. "A rather undesirable situation, in my opinion."
Star looked confused. "No.. Starz? Outzide? Nite tim?" She looked around, her words more pronouced than a minute ago.
"Well I can't say I don't like stars, but I'd prefer to view them through a window from the indoors." Silver sighed. "I just don't like being outside."
Fernleaf looked at the other foals with sudden realization. "WHAT!?" she screeched. "I get it now! 'Special' means we're crazy! I'm in a loony bin!" She looked at herself, frightened. She wasn't crazy, was she? What was her diagnosis? What made her insane!? "But of course, I can think of why everypony else is here. Silver has some sort of organizing problem, Fruit Bowl has multiple fruits in her head, that filly over there is obsessed with stars..." she trailed off and looked back at Sonic. "Wait, you don't have anything wrong with you, and I don't have anything wrong with me. Why are we here? There must be some sort of mistake!"
“Well…there is one star you can see during the daytime…” Lemon Lime suggested. Mango blew through her lips. “Here we go again…” “The Sun!” Mango kicked at the ground. She hated when Lemon Lime talked about ‘stupid stuff’. “That’s the stupidest thing ever! The Sun isn’t a star, you idjit! That’s why they call it, ‘The Sun’ and not ‘The Star’.” “How do you even know? You didn’t pay attention in school. If you did, you would’ve known that-“ Lime’s explanation was suddenly interrupted by Fernleaf’s sudden outburst: "I get it now! 'Special' means we're crazy! I'm in a loony bin!" Mango rolled her eyes. ”Okay. That’s the stupidest thing ever…” Cherry’s eyes suddenly grew wide. ”No...”, Jelly Jam whispered. ”Jelly…she doesn’t-“ ”NO!” Jelly suddenly reared up on her hind legs and sprinted down a nearby hallway as fast as she could, tears streaming down her face. ”I’m real…I’m real…I’m real…[size=-3]I’m not real…I’m not real…[/size]
Problem? He didn't have a problem. He was just pickier than everypony else. ...Well, maybe that was a little problem. But it wasn't like he was a gibbering madpony. As he straightened his mane absently, he pondered the implications of what Fernleaf had said. Well, most of the ponies here did seem a bit strange. Some were stranger than others, though... He glanced at Star. She could hardly even speak coherently... He raised an eyebrow at her comment about "Multiple Fruits". He would have found that slightly insulting if he were...uh...them. After all, none of them were insane. They didn't technically deserve to be called "fruits", it was merely out of the normal. Just because somepony is highly unusual doesn't mean they're a fruit. Or even multiple fruits. Silver nervously pawed at the carpet. The repeating pattern woven into the tapestry comforted him. Suddenly there was a ruckus. He looked up to see Cherry running out of the room, crying hard. Confused, he followed. Not quickly, but at a trot.
Star followed but only because she thought that she would see stars. "Starz? Starz!" She screamed, running towards the others.
(I feel like an a**hole now for that post. Stay in character...just stay in character...) "Oh dear..." Fernleaf said as Cherry went charging out of the room. "I probably shouldn't have said that out loud. Umm, I'm going to go see if I can cheer her up." Fernleaf trotted to the hallway and walked in the direction Cherry had taken off in, which was also the same way Silver had just went. The least she could do was make it up to her as best she could.
Ultra Violet trotted after Cherry Berry, concerned for the crying filly. She didn't overhear the other ponies, but she could see when a pony needed a friend, and she was determined to help. She ran in front of her to keep her from going to far, and threw her hooves around her in a surprise hug. "Oh, Cherry Berry, Jelly Jam, Lemon Lime, and the rest of you guys!! Everything's ok!" She summoned the image of a bowl of brightly colored fruits, which starting spinning around while the fruits danced about, hoping she'd bring a smile to Cherry's face. *** Toxic Rain enjoy's Silver's petting of her tail, if that's what it was, but she was slightly worried about the topic of conversation. "L-loony bin?" she repeated quietly. "But.. nothing's really wrong with me, I'm just lonely.." She sniffed, holding back a sob, and straightened herself up. "I mean, I thought this was a school? Aren't we here to learn things?" The pegasus twirled her hoof aimlessly along the marble floor, unknowingly changing its chemical makeup so it turned brittle and weak in that small spot. *** The ponies could hear a loud clopping down the hallway, from where the cafeteria was. It was Ms. Mellow, who widened her eyes and frowned at the sight of the youngsters. "You are all supposed to report in your dorms!" She said loudly. "That is at the end of this hallway, with corresponding dorms for mares and stallions. That doesn't mean hang out in the hall and tear things up!" She glanced down at the mess on the ground, focused her honey-colored magic and set things right. She then approached, her wings outspread, to herd the ponies down the hallway.
Silver was about to say something (whether it was encouraging or not, he would never know), but he was inturrupted by Ms. Mellow. "Dorms? Oh, yes, ma'am!" He started trotting down the hall in the direction she had pointed, looking for the correct room. Would it have some sort of label or symbol that would tell him that it was his? He had no idea, but he wan't about to get in Ms. Mellow's way.
Toxic followed after Silver's heels, peeking over her shoulder at Ms. Mellow and swallowing. She was becoming rather stressed and frightened. This was a school, right? she kept asking herself. After all, knowledge seemed to be her only joy. *** At the end of the hall are two sets of large oaken doors. A pink pegasus was emblazoned on the front of one, and a blue unicorn decorated the other, with the words 'mares' and 'stallions' above. Ultra Violet and Cherry Berry are in front of them, just noticing the other ponies being lead by Ms. Mellow.
Jelly continued running through the halls at full tilt before her legs gave out and she collapsed in a heap. She sat motionless for what seemed like a very long time before she sat up, still crying. "No...no...no..." She sniffed. "It's okay, Jelly... We know you're real." She began to rock herself back and forth while flicking her tail with one hoof.
Ore was cradled in a ball he felt he should get away he was afriad of Fernleaf he looked at her until she saw Cherry Berry cry and run. Ore stood up but then Fernleaf started to run after her Ore stooped in his tracks he didn't know which was stronger fear or friendship. He started to walk forwards and then backwards they were both at the same level until he saw that lady Ms. Mellow started to trot up the hallway. He was told to go to his dorm but he couldn't he needed to find Cherry Berry he stood tall and ran in the derection were Cherry and Fernleaf went.
Sonic Beat felt sorry for saying something like that, she knew she had a problem, and wasn't good in crowds, but she didn't care, going after the crying filly, at a rate fast for her, she caught up when she was in a heap and gently patted her back. "It's okay, we're not In a loony bin." She said softly, not knowing what to do, or how to comfort the other filly. Hearing something about dorms, she got her cloud to go under the filly and float her up in the air, focusing so that she wouldn't fall through. "Come on, we should get to the dorm."
Fernleaf watched the others move to their respective dorms. It was probably best if she didn't try to overcomfort Cherry at this point in time. She'll just apologize for the comment tomorrow. Sighing, she headed down the female dorm hallway and turned into the room designated as hers. When she got in, she noticed that all her stuff had already been taken out and put away. She hopped on her bed and sat there waiting for her roommate to arrive.
Star walked into her room whistling "Hello Mrs. Light! How are you this fine day?" It was strange. As if nothing had happened.
