Now this isn't for season four but something I had thought of for the future. Twilight has learned to use dark magic which is Sombra's specialty or at least the only thing he is seen using and there is that photo hopping around of Twilight as the dark princess or whatever which is pretty good imo but I digress. What if Twilight gets sucked in by the use of dark magic and Sombra abducts her or tricks her or something and makes her into a villain which the other elements then have to battle.

This could be an interesting idea either for a future episode or a full length movie I would love to see this happen.

That would be interesting, but it is VERY unlikely, for two reasons-
-The writers already made a 'magical corruption' episode.
-Twilight Sparkle turning evil is WAY too dark a theme, and would not be in keeping with the show's positive, upbeat tone.

I love the fact that the episodes give a positive message, this is what children need. That being said, as being a somewhat dark-minded individual, (*guilty pleasure*) I love what they have come out with the fan subs lately. (See Fall of the Crystal Empire)

I sometimes laugh at the syrupy-sweetness of the episodes, I love it when they bring in a new villain into the mix.

I for one, would love to see Celestia have a trip on the dark-side for a while. After all, always night = freeze; maybe always day= fry?

    Just a thought...

Yes. I was basing my theory on the fact that while Luna as Nightmare Moon was evil, Princess Celestia going off the deep end would be so much more horrific. Picture droughts and deserts. Scorched earth. Much scarier than Nightmare Moon.

Coming from a northern climate I can emphatically state that there is an absolute limit tho the number of layers of barding and horse blankets you can remove but there is not to the number you can acquire. Of course it is also much easier to build a fire than an air conditioner, and much easier to rest in cool dark grass than bright hot burning sand. Scarier than Nightmare Moon by far.

A direct, clear cut dichotomy in any storytelling is terrific. I love a great interchange between a well thought out Hero (or Anti-hero) and Villain (or Arch-Villain). It does not have an equal in real life. Real life is much more messy; hence, why we seek storytelling with great themes. These can be used to teach the young, such as in morality plays, some are just pure entertainment.

I have a soft spot for villains, the dark is much more interesting.

An evil Celestia has already appeared in the IDW comics.
While not canon, the comics are licensed by Hasbro.
