Pony Themes As a cure for boredom I decided to start writing some original pieces to portray characters from the show through song, these pieces will be posted here. All work is completely original in the composition, I work in Pro Tools 8. Should any sound samples be taken from the show, they are copyright Hasbro. ==================================================================================================================== List of all completed songs for the project: Derpy Hooves: Lunar Eclipse (Luna): Mp3 Download: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=8 Album artwork: Spoiler: Here Style: Electronica Scoot's Race (Scootaloo): Mp3 Download: Not yet avaliable Album artwork: Spoiler: Here Style: Retro Twilight's Sonata (Twilight's theme) Mp3 download: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=9 Album art (Grey Nightmare): Spoiler: Here http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads/twilightssonata_5ZL.png For the sake of image limits I'll just link them Style: Electronica Fluoride Soundscapes (Colgate's theme) Mp3 download: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=24 Style: Electronica Pinkie's Party (Pinkie's theme) Mp3 download: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=29 Style: Happycore Vinyl Scratch Thanks Vinyl for helping out with this, anyone can contribute if they'd like, I'd like to have a full collection going Peaceful Serenity (Fluttershy's theme) Mp3 download: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=13 Album art: http://www.everypony.com/forums/downloads/fs sleep_3p2.png - Thanks Bamboo for original art! Although I love the bass, I am actually starting to think... It's way too badass for Twilight. It should totally be like... Some badass pony's theme. Like Big Mac or Nightmare Moon! =P She's a nerd she probably listens to classical/renaissance!
For Mac and Applejack it'd have to be something acoustic and slow paced (wouldn't make much sense for them to have a fast electronic type theme), it could work for Nightmare Moon but I don't think it's quite menacing enough (Luna perhaps?). Personally I was thinking classical would work best more for like Rarity. Also if anyone has a better suggestion for the name for this "project" (if you want to call it that, I do plan on doing a series) I'm open to that.
Haha not sure about that. Yeah, I'm going to make that first one a Luna theme instead, it just seems to fit better. Anyways, any idea on which I should do next? I was thinking either: -Lyra (some sort of lyre solo thing, probably turning into a medium tempo electronica type piece) -Scootaloo (fast paced rock/electro rock) -Derpy (ummmmm not sure, it'd have to be a pretty weird piece) -Dj Scratch/P0N-E (dance techno or something)
http://www.box.net/shared/ssv9mnto00 K final version here, Luna finished Spoiler: Thanks to Jaret for the cover art Oh and Jaret, I'm having trouble accessing the youtube account - can you respond to my PMs?
IT is not. Why do you lie? Why DO YOU LIE? WHY DO YOU LIE???WHY DO YOU LIE??? /emorage. On a serious note though; Seems like you need to type in the password manually (not c'n'p) to make it work. I don't know why this is, but it at least works.
Finally got in, the password you sent me didn't have the caps correct, on top of the copy paste thing Also, we should probably put it as a video response to a Eurobeat Brony song to try and get some more views (if attaching is allowed on his videos)
Set it as a video response to This and it's just been approved (or youtube processed it, idk if EB has it set so he has to approve responses or not) and the views have already doubled. -On to Scootaloo's theme
Bump no# 2 I have the midi for Scootaloo's theme completely finished, just need to run it through some actual virtual instruments for the final mixing. In the meantime, here's Grey's art for the "cover" Spoiler: Working names atm (Jaret, we still need like the "cover" art for the series, I just figured it'd be nice to have some original alternate covers for the different songs within it so all the videos don't look the same).
I had to check twice but seems... You have 1,689 views!!! 30 Subscribers!!! Wow, just wow. Amazing Derpy, simply amazing!
Yeah, I never expected it to go this well. I brought my equipment so I'm already working on the next one, though I have no way of showing any wipe atm. So for some of the others here's what I'm thinking: pinkie: acid, party music on the borderline of rave Zecora: marimbas and dubstep Lyra: lyre (harp will work) solo that turns into something electro applebloom: acoustic music (banjo perhaps) that goes into something jumpy and upbeat
Grey's looks Great! You can go ahead and use it, I guess it's fitting Her anyway Umm, I hope that you'll finish it later today, I really want to hear the finalized product. I guess you could, seeing that you brought your Equipment with you (?)
7-8 hour drive home today, probably can't finish it but I do have a wip' to share when I get home and can use a normal internet connection again Anyways, which one should I do after scoot?
Hmmmm I'm not sure how to take Celestia really, I'm highly tempted to do something like the Star Wars imperial Death March, but that's not exactly how she's appeared in the show. Back to the current one: Wip time! http://www.box.net/shared/hltxqnmoe7 (I actually had this ready a day or two ago, but lacked an internet connection to upload it correctly - lot's of clipping atm (play it through windows media player, that seems to compress files so as to prevent clipping). It's missing a few layers atm, and definitely has a lot more work to be done on the percussion but you get the general idea. For instant gratification I ran it through GXSCC (a fairly infamous MIDI player that plays back in something similar to 8-bit). http://www.box.net/shared/zudcby77up Just for fun really, I prefer to do the full mix myself. Btw: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/04/winter-wrap-up-remix-lunar-eclipse.html
Do her as Trollestia. After all, all those songs are supposed to be representations of the Ponies, how you Look at them... I think the Imperial March would be almost identical to her.
Meh, the Celestia theme should be fairly impressive, like a sort of "epitome" of the pieces I should probably do some other, easier themes first before trying to attempt hers
