Doods, when I mentioned Team Rocket being close to Trixie, I was comparing her to the trio of villains (Jesse, James and Meowth) that ends up becoming a group of complete losers who keep boasting about themselves no matter how much is proved to everyone (including themselves) how pathetic they are. After the entire story trying merely to catch Pikachu knowing clearly that he won't obey any of them, I lost any respect and likeness towards them. I guess that was the main reason of why I disliked Trixie so much... Jett: What about Dark Typhoon or Shadow Trickster?
Dark Typhoon definitely has the darkness part but not much of the trickery thing. But Shadow Trickster? I like it! That's his new name. Thanks, Bamboo!
Bamboo: Jett's wings are indeed that color. 'Tis where he got his last name. It's a rare genetic condition in Pegasi; he got his dad's coat but his mom's wings. (Hey, it's an OC; I can make up whatever the hay I want to) Ok, sorry for the double post, but I've finished my Rainbow Dash vector, which can be found in the "Jett Blazewing's Pony Art" thread. I'll get started on Shadow Trickery once I come up with a finalized design for his mane and tail. I'm thinking of something similar to DJ P0N-3/Vinyl Scratch's mane and tail, but, as mentioned, I don't have a final design yet. EDIT: Next time I'll just use the button I just pressed.
Fillies and gentlecolts, this thread is to help with OCs and semi-OCs concepting, only. Now there's a thread for posting pony-related artwork, just so you know. BUT, you can post some images here in case you want/need to add some symbolism.
Taking into consideration some of (great) ideas Bamboo came up with in helping me develop my OC, I put together a rough background story for him that leads up to his days in Ponyville. I used Google Docs(first time) for this, so I have no idea how it turned or if the link even works: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...EoT_Cosb7_L978/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CI6-5_4F
Blu-Cup: If you need help with your character, we have a thread right here. Another FiM OC I created. This is Moonos, the pet owl of a noble family of Canterlot. He looks scary, but he's kind and protective over the offspring of his owners. As you may guessed, he's a snowy owl. But I made him a male because female snowy owls along with young adults and moulding offspring, have the body entirely black spotted, only adult male owls have the body snow white. EDIT: Updated GoldenDelight's design, to fit more the FiM style.
Sorry, Wacom Bamboo, there's just... well... Some things just look un-ordinarily better. In my eyes, the other Golden Delight you did (The first one) had much better colors. Use darker shades for the hair, having light shades doesn't look that nice on the hair. The eyes on this version look much more like the ones from the show than the newer ones. The body's alright, I guess, though I still prefer the shading you used on this version. That one looks kind of... too white.
I like it Bamboo, I don't think it needs to be darker or more shaded, seeing as you said your going for a more FiM style which we all know is fairly bright and minimally shaded? The owl on the otherhand... That just downright scares me ^^
That pic is indeed too bright, I darkened a little. And I had already too much trouble with those EYES... 0__0 As for Moonos... He's supposed to look scary xD
Some of you may have noticed that I changed my cutie mark from a crude NES controller to a Pegasus wing a few days ago. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for making it look more "highly-skilled flyer"-like. My OC is (was) at one point in his life, an expert flyer, but due to this and that blahblahblah. I only posted this here and not in the helpdesk thread since it doesn't involve any character development, just simple aesthetic changes.
Hmm, make the feather ends sharper. Anything sharp is fast, for some reason or another. Maybe consider making him have unique wings, with more than just 1 color.
It'd look cool if the area where the bone assumably is is a different shade or different color, like the "front end" of the wings are white as opposed to blue
Usually sharper objects have less mass so there's less wind resistance... which makes sharpening the feathers a great idea. As for his actual wings; His right wing has a slightly crooked shape due to the injury he sustained. Also, I've since made the feathers underneath the same color as the fur on his chin, which is a light greyish-blue, so now they're two tone. I tried that once already- didn't look too hot. Probably should give it another go. Took two minutes to change a few pixels around on the flat file. Don't have the time right now to really sit down and work with it with dinner on the stove: Quick changes were: -Changed the under feathers to a Grey color -Sharpened the feather tips Still extremely crude.
