The Author field should only be filled in if the user is present on this site, otherwise all credit due should be present in the description field. If the author is unknown the user should supply a link to the location he derived the resource/resources from in the description and/or downloadable .txt readme (if there are multiple authors due to a collaboration pack, credit the major in the author field and the rest in descript, or leave the author blank and credit all in descript). I won't force anyone to credit Hasbro but do agree it would be a modest a gesture for those willing - just put it in the description not the author field ^^. The only thing is if someone complains that we have their content on the site without their permission and the uploader hasn't credited them and can't prove they made it, we'll take it down. No ifs, no buts. Down it goes !! I'm honestly still undecided on the exact content to allow, I think screencaps are a no-go unless their comics (captioned) or edited a considerable amount, photobucket or imageshack can be used for the former. The idea is that anything uploaded should be worth downloading by another user, it's not a gallery/file dump. Your opinions on the matter are welcome of course.. Spoiler: P.S. Moderators will be Required! If you... Like Ponies (Essential) Spend a lot of time on Everypony Like performing repetetive, menial and seemingly pointless tasks Like wasting hours of your life away for the "benefit" of others Want to be a moderator and fit all of the above criteria We might just have a job for you revolving around the Downloads section, post here if your interested
You had crossed my mind Derpy, I trust you 100% and know you'd do a good job but with you being a mod on hive and whatnot are you sure you can handle it? I'd hate to put you under pressure, sometimes it's nice to have a forum or two where you have no responsibilities whatsoever! @Jaret - Well if people still want to do it after reading that, they must be good for the job right?
Okay just as a way to start building a database of resources, if you look across ponychan and various other sources you can find the soundtracks from the show isolated from the vocals or vice versa, which can really come in handy for people looking for material to work with - the thing is these are often done anonymously and in the end are still Hasbro's work. Grey, would you have a problem with me compiling these resources into a single sound download pack for the site (all credits would go to Hasbro as the author)?
