"What? They want you to be single forever? You're an adult, you should be able to decide that if you can decide to go on a dragon hunting quest!" Scale shouted his statements, and the mark under his eye seemed to glow mildly.
"I always tell them, I'm an adult, let me do what I want!, & they hate it when I say that, if they knew what I was doing for real they'd be super angry..."
"You mean they don't know?" Scale thought back to what his brother had told him. *It's your job to protect her, if you go hunting dragons with her. Celestia's orders, kid.* He tried to make sense of it, but just looked over to Equinox for her answer.
"I could never let them know about this, they'd freak if they did, but it's fun to break their rules...", equinox says, chuckling at the last part
"I can only guess. The last time I broke the "rules," ponies died... I mean, I've gotten over it, and they werent exactly innocents, but still..." Scale sighs then perks up again. "So what other rules have you broken?"
"I've gone far out of Canterlot, all the way to the badlands, I've climbed buildings, kissed a royal guard, tackled Celestia, jumped out the window in my room, & much more...", equinox replied, laughing
"Wow. I'm dealing with a straight rebel. What do I see in you? I---" Scale starts mumbling slightly, before looking up and turning to Equinox again.
"Huh? Oh... did I say that out loud?" Scale looks away from her. "Well, that figures... I always screw somethign up."
"I dunno. Probably. I know what I thought and apparently I thought it out loud. Seems like an appropriate reaction."
"I understand if you want me to head back to Canterlot and not talk to you again. It was nice knowing you." Scale sighs and looks at the ground.
"Ok then. What? Do you want to slap me or something?" Scale turned to her and looked directly into her eyes, unintentionally.
"Reasons pertaining to me being your associate in a professional hunt and the fact that I just blatantly admitted I have a child-like crush on you." Scale shrugged. "Since you don't want to though. I figure we have more important things to do than stand around and talk about my silly crush."
