Kids... Horses are tapped on butt to run... So it wasn't like tapping a WOMAN on butt - actually, is because by doing this you're comparing her to a mare (in a bad way), hence why it sounds SO offensive for us humans... Bur for equines it doesn't sound that offensive at all. Apparently, you only do this to mules, donkeys, horses and some other that might pull a heavy load. If I were a unicorn (and I am), I'd be HIGHLY P***ED OFF if one stupid dog calls me that...
I have to admit that I found the dogs a little odd compared to the other creatures in the show, if only because I thought their designs were styled differently. They more or less walk on two legs, are very dark and dully colored, and actually went as far as to capture one of the main cast. I wasn't expecting to see antagonists quite that assertive in the show, so it kind of surprised me when I saw it for the first time. I like that it shows Rarity's independence, and ability to deal with tough situations though. She's one book that you can't judge by her cover.
^ lol nicely put @Bamboo Having been around horses my entire life never have i had to hit one anywhere on its body to get it to go somewhere. People would be amazed with the stubborness of some horses, and that all they need is a little coaxing and a lot of love and care and they can be your best friend in the world, of course the dogs showed none of this so im not the least bit surprised rarity acted the way she did.
Royalguard, that's what I call a "Dots'n'commas" phrase. Anyways, Rarity getting hit in her butt... I don't recall seeing that, need to rewatch this one episode.
I found the various scenarios the mane cast thought Rarity was in to be quite funny... And manly Spike was no exception.
I think that for me, the best thing about this episode is that Tabitha St. Germain (Rarity's voice actress) gets to show off how truly talented she is. She breathes so much life into Rarity.
