I still want to know if Equestria Girls the movie or show or whatever it's supposed to be is going to have the Equestria Girls song from the promo as it's theme song.
Whelp, a nice little article loaded with more information on Equestria Girls is on NYTimes.com. Full article with more info of the movie (yes, it IS a theatrical release), along with corporate-speak here! Link to TRAILER : http://video1.nytime..._xxxl_hb_mm.mp4
>Animation Style That's nice, now if only you could...oh I don't know, NOT MAKE THE ARTWORK LOOK ATROCIOUS!
Umm I totally missed this on first glance, but the trailer is on the side of the page! Direct link below: EDIT: I saw in the trailer: Vinyl, the CMC. Also, I think the blue-haired boy could actually be Shining Armor--look at his shirt. Just, you know, before we all jump to the 'boyfriend' route.
This is just kooky. Nonsensical kookiness. Not interested, though. I really dislike highschool settings.
It's not Shining Armor. This person is Yellow/Blue with a Shield and Lightning Bolt instead of Shield/Stars.
It looks just like that age old and discriminatory formula of a highschool girl trying to fit in and recieving help from a kindhearted boy who steals her heart and rescues her from the horrors of school. Ugh, their most likely even going to have a dance that must be prepared for and some kind of wierd romance as ell. Also, why does everyone look like a Bratz doll in league with the Joker? Another horrible thing is that before I saw the trailer I knew what was going to be in it, I was just hoping I was wrong. I like the self-sustaining ponies from Equestria, the female characters who instead of looking for someone to carry them through life and protect them, valued eachother and their own abilities, and stood fine on their own without the need to seek comfort in anyone other than themselves. I like that they each focused on rather mature goals, albeit rather fantastical versions, but that's besides the point. They were following their dreams and dealing with problems that mattered, problems of their future and continued existence. Why must that be all thrown away and transported to the shallow waters of a highschool setting while attempting to frighten off the monsters of monster high?
I do live close where its gonna be played at which is a 40 minute drive there but should I see it? My buddy and I are debating right now.
Oh, it's called My little Pony? Let's make the human counterparts really tall. And I don't like the animation style, it just seems choppier. Ill at least give this a watch, but still my hopes aren't high.
After watching the trailer unlike you lot. My hopes have been raised quite alot so all my worries have sort of gone away.
Equestria Girls Trailer I'll just leave this here....... what ya'll think of it? I think this will be a good movie, in my opinion
Okay, after seeing the trailer, I have to say I'm a bit more optimistic about it. Sure, the concept of a (somewhat) pony-less pony-movie is still weird, as is the high school setting, but it looks like it could actually be somewhat fun. I just hope there's more to the plot than just the typical battle against the bully / high-school romance that goes nowhere. Also, I'm happy to see that they used the character designs that originally leaked (human ears, no cutiemarks on cheeks) instead of the strange mutants they use everywhere else in their promo material.
Well, it looks pretty good in my opinion, and I like all the neat little things they've put into the trailer: - Twilight struggling (I suppose) with the loss of her magic is quite funny to see, especially Twilight instinctively grabbing the apple with her mouth. - The group picture in the book Twilight is reading in one scene looks suspiciously similar to the famous group picture from the series's intro, just without Twilight. Who knows what other little nods to the main series they'll put into the movie. - Appearances from other characters like Vinyl Scratch, the CMC... and Snips and Snails, apparently. Hmm. But hey, Vinyl Scratch! Not to mention that I'm pleased by the use of the more human looking character designs instead of the strange mutants from the promo artworks. So yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic about this.
All I know is I can't watch it with sound since I'm in school... And it just seems so funny. I really hope I won't be disappointed when I add in the audio >.<
My home broadband's down, and at school, it's filtered. Today is a sad day indeed. Some day... I shall see this trailer.
I just saw the trailer and it looks pretty good I must say but I can hardly wait for the full product.
