I'd like to share my speculation as to the possible plot of EqG based on little snippets I've seen here and there. From what I've been able to gather, it seems to me that Twilight's tiara, specifically the one containing the element of magic, is some how sent to or lost within the human-like world of EqG. Being both a princess and/or the bearer of the element of magic, Twilight has to venture forth to retrieve her crown to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. Unfortunately, someone took the crown and decided to use it for the "Fall Formal Crown" event. Since the crown is likely kept under lock and key, most likely by the current crown holder Sunset Shimmer, Twi has to win the contest in order to retrieve her crown. This is all speculation on my part, but it seems to make sense.
Found out the EqG movie is playing at my local theatre. Aaaand I won't be going. Being a brony is one thing, but I have no intention of sitting through an MLP movie in a theatre full of little girls and their moms. If my little cousins lived closer I'd see if they wanted to go so I'd have an excuse lol but me going by myself would just be awkward. I'll just watch it on the internet later with everyone else.
I was thinking of seeing this with some friends, but then Hasbro decided not to release it in my country... Pff. PFF. Probably rubbish anyway... PFFFF.
You're lucky. There's only one playing in Missouri and that one is a few hours away from me :/ But then again it would be pretty creepy for some guy to be in a theater full of little girls.
Being your close neighbours across the water, this probably rules us out of having it as well. Not that there was any advertisement or talk of it coming here in the first place of course, but even if it was I probably would wait to see it online.

I just saw that on Equestria Daily i'm liking this movie more and more also for some reason I was expecting Spike to lose his ability to speak when he became a dog glad to know that's not the case.
Even though she's obviously the villain of the movie I wonder if Sunset Shimmer will wind up becoming good and friends with Twilight Sparkle like Discord did with Fluttershy?
