Not sure I can quite comphrehend there being any Spike fans at all haha. Just kidding :derpe: I'm actually glad to hear that Spike didn't get the short end of the writing stick like he has so many times before. Like Spike at your Service....bleh.
I finally caved in and decided to watch it on Youtube. I am not surprised by the many positive reviews. I liked it. Not crazy about it, but they did a really good job with it. The animation was great, the song segments were pretty good, Sunset Shimmer proved to be an excellent FiM antagonist. Go into this film with an open mind like you did when you first watched the show, and I think you'll be pleased with it. Its actually gotten me more excited about Season 4! @Big Sims re: Snips and Snails. I think it does make sense. Remember how in 'Boast Busters' they adored The Great and Powerful Trixie? I think the writers decided they could look up to Sunset Shimmer in a similar way and, in my opinion, they were perfect for that role.
OK, I couldn't wait so I found a decent version on YouTube.
I may have to watch the film again now. The quality of the video I watched it on last night just pales completely in comparison to Vint Eastwood's link.
I think I saw Lyra, but it may have been wishful thinking. I did, however, see Sy dancing with Trixie.
Couldn't have agreed with you more. I was a little skeptical at first but to my surprise I was enjoying it quite alot. Dog spike ftw<3
Ok, I saw it today in a packed theater. And I must say, watching this movie with a herd of bronies and pegasisters in a relatively small theater makes the whole experience all the more magical There was such a great sense of camaraderie! It was like nopony was a stranger, we openly complemented each others brony-apparel (my Doctor Whooves shirt was quite popular) and we were all 100% unafraid to shout witty comments at the screen and laugh as hard as we liked (nopony was swearing or anything, there were little fillies there too after all). As for the movie itself; it was far better than I feared it could be. The humor was spot-on as always, the character-design was really appealing and seeing all our favorite ponies in human form wasn't unsatisfying in the least. Good villain too, though I was really having a hard time taking her seriously at first. Spoiler: spoiler Seeing everybody at the school fearing Sunset Shimmer didn't make sense to me at first because you don't see her doing much to gain such a status of villainy until the very end. She has a few dopey pictures taken of Twilight. Not a big deal, there are far worse things to be caught doing than holding a book incorrectly. It wasn't until I saw the photoshopping that I saw she was a tad more resourceful. The songs were dance-in-your-seat catchy and I've already learned "Helping Twilight Win the Crown" on my guitar. Actually listening to the song while writing this, lol. Honestly, the only real thing about the movie that I straight-up hated was Flash Sentry. Such a cliche "pretty-boy" character, very boring. Whenever he showed up, there were a LOT of groans heard in the theater, and I was definitely contributing to the chorus, haha. Best part though? Spoiler: spoiler I'd noticed Derpy Hooves hanging out in the cafeteria, and that alone made me squee with joy ^-^ But then after the movie was over, Derpy made a special cameo as the credits were rolling. And man, you'd think the roof was going to fly away from all the cheering that erupted from our crowd! We were absolutely ecstatic! So yeah, the movie is definitely worth seeing l-) - - Auto Merge - - Agreed! I was amazed by just how level-headed Spike was in this movie. He was practically a sage, haha. I was worried that he'd be on the receiving end of some horrible jokes to exploit his change of species, but amazingly enough, the writers were very kind to Spike this time around. I was pleased to see that l-)
I liked Flash Sentry. He reminds me a lot of Shining Armor, which I think is perfect for brother-complex Twilight.
Speaking of Flash Sentry isn't he voiced by Vincent Tong a.k.a. the voice actor for Prince Blueblood and Garble?
I didn't mind Flash Sentry, as only appeared 3 or 4 times. He had no personality at all, but he won't be in season 4, so I'm fine with it.
I think the worst part about Flash Sentry Was that he was basically Edward Cullen in pony form No Im not saying he was an emo vampire because that's not the main thing that bugs me about Edward I'm saying he is just a 1 dimensional stereotype character who has no purpose other than giving teenage girls wet dreams because he's handsome. Heck, if the movie was live action, Im pretty sure Robert Pattinson would play the role.
I wish. These were drawn by danmakuman on deviantart. I liked them so much that I had to share them here.
